Having been revealed at NYCC in October last year, the Inquisitor hasn’t had his proper introduction video like all the other Star Wars Rebels characters so far. Rumors started last month that none other than Jason Isaacs would be playing the Jedi hunting Pau’an and today EW.com revealed it to be true.
While most people will know Jason Isaacs best as Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter films, I know him best as the purely evil Colonel William Tavington in The Patriot (I also enjoyed his performance in the short-lived, but well-made Awake TV show). He’s using his British accent for the Inquisitor and it brings me back flashbacks to his despicable actions while playing Tavington, making me really look forward to hearing him voice the fearsome Rebels series baddie.
I like how Lucasfilm Story Group member Pablo Hidalgo starts off stating right away that the Inquisitor isn’t a Sith, just a Dark Side Force-user, helping dispel any questions on how he’s around when there’s supposed to be the Rule of Two in place. But the curious fact that he knows a lot about the Jedi ways certainly brings up some great questions regarding the Inquisitor’s past.
However, best bit of the video: Jason Isaacs pulling an Obi-Wan and saying his previous roles *may* have been villainous, from a certain point of view.
