Darth Vader – Dark Lord of the Sith issue #7 has a lot to devour, setting up a delicious new arc, “The Dying Light,” which looks to have the potential to match and beat its nearly flawless first six issues. Marvel Announces 2nd Darth Vader Comic Series, Set Post-Revenge of the Sith (UPDATED)

Dark Lord of the Sith AnnouncementConsider me completely surprised and initially perplexed by this announcement: we’re getting a new Darth Vader comic in June, a second series subtitled Dark Lord of the Sith, set mere seconds after the events of Revenge of the Sith. Considering the first series only just finished its run a few months back and is highly lauded by most fans and critics, it seems a little strange to go back to Vader so soon, but the potential hidden in the story Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith wants to tell, like focusing on Vader as a character getting used to his new life or the start of the Inquisitors first seen in Star Wars Rebels, and it being written by Charles Soule, I feel like there’s enough here to actually get excited for it. More thoughts and further details about the new series below! Continue reading “Marvel Announces 2nd Darth Vader Comic Series, Set Post-Revenge of the Sith (UPDATED)”

Canon Comic Review: Kanan #12

Kanan #12

Spoiler Review –

Here we are folks, the end the Kanan comic series is not near, it’s here. Issue #12 brings the continuously excellent series to a close (I named it my favorite series of 2015) and it’s quite a bittersweet ending. On one hand, it’s a wonderfully written wrap-up of various threads from the entire series as well as full of surprising tie-ins to stories elsewhere in canon. On the other hand, this is the last of it. And while there’s always a fear one can have too much of a good thing (as I know I want more of this series), I’d honestly say Kanan #12 ends things at just the right time with about as perfect of an ending as one can get.
