Star Wars Comics July 2018 Solicitations

Star Wars Comics July 2018 Solicitations

I haven’t been covering the monthly solicitations for Marvel’s (or IDW’s) upcoming comics, but I’ve decided to start doing so because not only do I look forward to the teases they bring for upcoming stories, but it’s for your convenience of not having to go far to find them if you’re already on the Manor! Seeing as these go out three months, today’s batch of solicitations of Star Wars comics covers issues dropping in July. Head on below to see what’s in store for Doctor AphraPoe DameronDarth Vader – Dark Lord of the Sith, and more! (I’ll update the article when IDW’s solicitations release, which seem to be a few days after Marvel’s Updated!) Continue reading “Star Wars Comics July 2018 Solicitations”

The Last Jedi - Storms of Crait #1

– Spoiler Review –

Star Wars: The Last Jedi – The Storms of Crait #1 reads like an Annual issue of the mainline series, offering a fast-paced adventure that doesn’t linger too long on anything worthwhile beyond more action. Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: The Last Jedi – Storms of Crait #1”

A Star Wars Anthology Story: Retrospective on Jason Aaron’s Star Wars Comic Run (#1-37)

Jason Aaron Star Wars Comics Retrospective

Since Marvel’s new beginnings with the Star Wars license, the Star Wars mainline series has been the backbone of the comics, providing adventurous tales about the Big Three: Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, and Han Solo. At the helm of the series since the start has been writer Jason Aaron, who has taken us on anthology-lite arcs of story between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, filling in what’s becoming quite the crowded era. His stories contained everything from big surprises were you least expected them to character moments big and small. And after 37 issues, stretching from January 2015 to October 2017, Jason Aaron’s run has come to an end. Having read the series since its inception, it’s time now to look back at Aaron’s legacy as this retrospective discusses what I feel has been the good, the bad, and the in-between of his nearly three year run. Canon Comic Review: Star Wars #20

Star Wars #20

Spoiler Review –

Another break between story arcs for the Star Wars series, another entry in the “Journals of Old Ben Kenobi.” Star Wars #20 is the best of the journal entries to date and it ends with a fulfilling sense of finality to Obi-Wan’s tales on Tatooine. Canon Comic Review: Star Wars #15

Star Wars #15Spoiler Review –

The Star Wars on-going, fresh off the completion of Marvel’s first crossover event Vader Down, takes a break from the main narrative and returns to a story “From the Journals of Old Ben Kenobi,” last visited in issue #7. Star Wars #15’s entry from Kenobi’s journal is an extension from the story in #7, but it also explains in thorough and interesting detail just why Uncle Owen has such a big chip on his shoulder when it comes to their benevolent protector Obi-Wan. Everything, from the story to the art, combine to make a great continuation of Ben’s journals, while a surprise character sets up for an exciting return, whenever the next Journal entry comes.
