Another year, another set of revelations! Revelations (2023) #1 does what its predecessor did, teasing the future of Marvel’s Star Wars comics output, but unlike last year’s entry, it offers little stories introducing us to new and intriguing characters or series to come in 2024. Star Wars Comics January 2024 Solicitations

Star Wars Comics january 2024 Solicitations

January 2024’s Star Wars comics solicitations aren’t interested in your New Year’s resolutions or aspirations, as they have a distinct air of finality to them whether you want them to or not, seeming to promise the era of comics set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi might be winding down. But we should focus on the here and now, as Qui-Gon Jinn would say, and January’s comics have quite the bounty, from the giant, big finale to the Bounty Hunters series (see, things are ending!), a look at Marchion Ro’s victory lap after Starlight Beacon’s fall, another Visions comic to enjoy, and so much more! Comic News: Next Revelations One-Shot Announced, More Ronin for Star Wars: Visions Comics

Revelations 2023 announcement

I focus a lot on Star Wars’ comics on the Manor, especially thanks to it introducing my favorite character Doctor Aphra, and now more than ever it’s hard not to think about their future. We’ve been in the six months period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi for three years now and are currently in the middle of its fourth crossover event, so a little fatigue has set in, minus for series set outside said era. The announcement of the Star Wars: Visions one-shots was a fresh injection, as is the news we’ll get more backstory for “The Duel,” but where’s a similar freshness for the main stories? Enter 2023’s Revelations one-shot, which looks to tease what’s ahead for 2024’s comics, featuring everyone from Keeve Trennis of the High Republic era, Mace Windu, Princess Leia, and…Grand Admiral Thrawn?! Head below for the intriguing new cover and look at the newest Visions project! Continue reading “Comic News: Next Revelations One-Shot Announced, More Ronin for Star Wars: Visions Comics”

Star Wars Comics October 2023 Solicitations

At this age in my life, I don’t really expect a ton of gifts in my birthday month, instead looking forward to spending time with friends and family. Canon Comic Review: Revelations (2022) #1

Revelations 1 review mynockmanor

– Spoiler Review –

Star Wars Revelations #1 is a special one-shot issue which finds Darth Vader in the Eye of the Webbish Bog’s presence again, allowing writer Marc Guggenheim to weave a tale regarding how the many creatives behind this current era of comics are telling a larger, connected story while also offering intriguing glimpses at what might be coming for next year’s content. Both prophetic and overbearing, Revelations #1 has more questions than answers, but it makes for an interesting concept to showcase what will come next, hinting at a storyline I’m both excited for but worried this medium won’t be able to do justice.
