End, The Clone Wars Do, February 21 on Disney+

We’ve known for some time now that The Clone Wars would air its final (again) season on Disney+ this February, but it wasn’t until today we finally learned it’ll drop February 21! The official announcement reveals it’ll cover 3 story arcs, and at 12 episodes total, we’re likely getting 4 episodes an arc, though no word if it’s all dropping Feb 21 or if it’ll be released weekly. After watching the final trailer above, it won’t really matter because my mind, body, and soul will not be ready either way! Head below for some more details on what we might see in The Clone Wars’ final run. Continue reading “End, The Clone Wars Do, February 21 on Disney+”

SDCC 2018: The Clone Wars Returns, Coming to Disney’s Streaming Service

The wealth of content left unseen from the team behind the The Clone Wars series has been the stuff of legends for years, with The Clone Wars Legacy trickling out small doses of unproduced content in the form of incomplete episodes and novels. In the last few Celebrations, there have been peaks at what they had planned for the show from the likes of Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo, showing off concept art and clips from more unproduced episodes. Recently, Star Wars Rebels picked up with some of the show’s characters years later, offering some sense of closure to their story or starting their next chapter. But now the wait for more of the still unproduced content is over, as brand new episodes surrounding the events of “The Siege of Mandalore” are coming to a small screen near you via Disney’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service (Disney+)!!!! Check out the amazing teaser above and below you’ll not only find a video of the panel in its entirety, but I’ll discuss what we’ve already learned about the “Siege” storyline, as well as look at what content they teased in the past (Ahsoka’s first boyfriend, Boba’s rise in the bounty hunter ranks, a trip to Kashyyyk with the Bad Batch, and….the Yuuzhan Vong !?!). Star Wars Rebels Returns for Final Episodes February 19

We already got the beginning of the end when the first half of Star Wars Rebels fourth and final season began airing late last year, but now we’re getting the true beginning of the end as the second half begins airing February 19. As for hints at what’s coming, look no further than another exceptional trailer (from Kevin Yost per usual!) above, where Kanan gets a new ‘do, Emperor Palpatine sets his sights on Ezra, and The Clone Wars’ mysterious and decisive Mortis Trilogy finds itself rather important to these final 6 episodes. Full schedule and episode descriptions below! Continue reading “Star Wars Rebels Returns for Final Episodes February 19”

Dave Filoni: Animated Origins and Unexpected Fates Panel Impressions (SWCO 2017)

Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo for Animated Origins and Unexpected FatesAs has been the custom over the past two celebrations, Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo reveal inside looks at characters and unreleased behind-the-scenes details and new footage from the animated shows The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Unlike The Untold Clone Wars or Ahsoka’s Untold Tales, Animated Origins and Unexpected Fates wasn’t nearly as revealing, though there were teases for what’s to come on Rebels‘ 4th season (including Ahsoka returning!) and a great clip from TCW featuring Boba Fett and Cad Bane, but Filoni and Hidalgo are such a joy to listen to talking about Star Wars, the panel is always a blast no matter how much they give away. Ahsoka’s Untold Tales Panel Impressions (SWCE 2016)

Ahsoka's Untold Tales Panel PanelistsFor any fan of The Clone Wars breakout character Ahsoka Tano, her Untold Tales Panel was an absolutely must see. While panelists Dave Filoni (executive producer of Rebels), Pablo Hildalgo (Story Group), and Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano), didn’t clear up her fate after the Star Wars Rebels Season Two finale, they did a deep dive into some remaining unproduced TCW episodes which included her having a boyfriend (and Asain lead!), a journey into the Sith Temple below the Jedi Temple, and the Ahsoka Loyalist troops, while also revealing her novel’s cover art, vague and metaphorical Topps cards about her fate, and one giant promise about whether we’ll see her or not again. SWCE 2016 News Roundup Pt. 3: Ahsoka Untold Tales and Future Filmmaker Discussion Panels Announced

Twilight of the ApprenticeFans of Ahsoka Tano and those interested in the films beyond Rogue One have something to really look forward to at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 (July 15-17), as two newly announced panels look to spill the proverbial Jawa beans on those subjects. First off, Ahsoka’s Untold Tales features Dave Filoni, Pablo Hildalgo, and Ashley Eckstein (the voice of Ahsoka Tano herself!), who will discuss the character’s, “…past, from her discovery by the Jedi Order as a young child, to her adventures in unproduced episodes of The Clone Wars, to the chapters of her life newly revealed in the Ahsoka novel and more!” As someone who went to Celebration Anahiem 2015’s Untold Clone Wars panel, where they revealed tons of new content, this is sure to be an absolute must-see for Ahsoka fans. Secondly, the Future Filmmaker Discussion includes Rian Johnson (director for Ep.VIII), Chris Miller and Phil Lord (directors of the untitled Han Solo film), Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart, and Pablo Hildalgo as they, “…close out the weekend’s festivities on a high note!” Which, even if it’s just title reveals for both projects, would certainly be a high note for me. Canon Novel Review: Star Wars: Dark Disciple

Star Wars Dark Disciple Review

Spoiler Review –

Dark Disciple, written by Christie Golden and adapted from 8 unproduced episodes of The Clone Wars TV show, follows two unlikely participants in a quest to assassinate the villainous Count Dooku: Quinlain Vos and Asajj Ventress. At times a thrilling story about love and the power it holds, what it means to be true to one’s self and the Force, and the darkness within us all, it falters however by feeling like it adheres too closely to the scripts, doesn’t elaborate enough, and stumbles to an uneven end. That being said, Dark Disciple is an engaging read not only for fans of the cancelled animated show, but for those who want an electrifying adventure that certainly reads like the up and downs of TV show episodes. But it could’ve been so much more. Continue reading “Canon Novel Review: Star Wars: Dark Disciple”

The Clone Wars Legacy: The Bad Batch Arc Impressions

Bad Batch

The Clone Wars Legacy initiative has been bringing out cancelled content from the much beloved show slowly but surely. The latest release is The Bad Batch arc, which originally aired exclusively to Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015 attendees, a 4 part series of unfinished TCW episodes revolving around a special batch of clones, Clone Force 99, self-nicknamed ‘The Bad Batch,’ on a mission to rescue once thought dead clone trooper Echo. Much like the Utapau arc released last year, these are the story reels you’ve been looking for i.e. another set of highly entertaining entries in TCW saga. The Untold Clone Wars Panel Impressions (SWCA 2015)

The Untold Clone Wars Panel SWCAFans of The Clone Wars (one of them being me) were in for a treat when Pablo Hildalgo and Dave Filoni got to show off a lot of unseen concept art and clips, even if they weren’t really supposed to. They teased the Bad Batch arcs, Wookiee related plans, Cad Bane and Boba Fett on Tatooine, and some stuff from the 8 episodes the upcoming novel Dark Disciple is based off of, and some Ahsoka Tano shenanigans. Star Wars: Dark Disciple Plot Synopsis

Star Wars: Dark DiscipleWith Lords of the Sith out in April, the next non-“Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens” related adult novel will be Dark Disciple, authored by Christie Golden. Its plot synopsis is officially out (first spotted by Jedi-Bibliothek, naturally) and it sounds pretty dark, besides the romantic subplot of course. UPDATE 7/5/15: Our review is up, but cautious, it’s got spoilers! Continue reading “Star Wars: Dark Disciple Plot Synopsis”
