Star Wars Rebels Season Four Premiere Review: “Heroes of Mandalore” Part 2

Star Wars Rebels Heroes of Mandalore Part 2

– Spoiler Review –

This review focuses mainly on Part 2 of the Star Wars Rebels final season premiere episode, “Heroes of Mandalore,” but it also sums up my feelings on the entire episode, feelings that have changed in both pluses and minuses since seeing only the first half at April’s Celebration Orlando. The whole review will tell you one thing though: why I’d say this is the best premiere episode of the series. Novel Review: Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View

Star Wars From a Certain Point of View

Minor Spoiler Review –

There have been short story collections in the Star Wars universe before, but nothing quite like this! From a Certain Point of View gathers together 43 authors for 40 stories giving us new perspectives on Episode IV: A New Hope, as a celebration of the film’s 40th Anniversary (bonus: all the author proceeds go to the charity First Book!). In short, the stories within had me crying, laughing, and filled me up with joyous wonder, much like A New Hope did and continues to do 40 years later, which is a pretty fitting way to celebrate the 40th anniversary, if you ask me! The Last Jedi Theatrical Trailer and Poster are Here!

Since Director Rian Johnson didn’t actually tell anyone to avoid the trailer, I’m hoping you’ve watched it already. If not, PLEASE DO SO ABOVE. If you don’t, your power with the Force is strong indeed. For those of who can’t wait the next 66 days (Order 66, anyone?), let’s talk thoughts because my immediate ones were nothing but swear words. Who exactly was Snoke talking to the whole time? Luke frightened by Rey’s power is surprising. Leia’s calm demeanor as Kylo is torn inside once again on whether to pull the trigger. Finn and Phasma. And that final shot?!?! The Last Jedi looks to be both exhilarating and heading towards unexpected directions. More thoughts below, including screengrabs and the poster! Canon Comic Review: Star Wars #37

Star Wars #37

– Spoiler Review –

This is it folks, the end of an era: Jason Aaron’s Farewell Tour of the Star Wars comic series comes to a close in issue #37, the last part of the “Out Among the Stars” arc. While it’s not as high a note as the previous few issues, it feels like a mostly fitting end to Aaron’s work, made even more so by the bonus one-shot included. In the coming weeks I’ll have a retrospective of his 37-issue run, so for now this review is simply of the final issue. Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: Star Wars #37”

Jedi of the Republic - Mace Windu #2

– Spoiler Review –

Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu #2 doesn’t save the series from its nondescript start, but it does opens up some potential and dives into meaty subject matter that could help propel the series towards something more than average.
