The Clone Wars Season 7 The Bad Batch Assemble

Spoiler Review –

The Clone Wars returns, again, for its 7th and final season and it begins its 12 episode run with “The Bad Batch,” the beginning of a 4 episode arc dealing with a motley crew of specialized clones, ripped right from 80’s action movies, and their plan to disrupt a highly effective Separatist defensive strategy that might involve someone long thought dead. As far as starts go, this is a rousing, action-heavy episode and sets up for some deeper aspects down the line. Continue reading “The Clone Wars Season Seven Review: “The Bad Batch””

Comic News: Doctor Aphra Vol. 2 Details Revealed, The Clone Wars Comic from IDW Announced

Doctor Aphra Vol 2 Details The Clone Wars Battle Tales Announced

Over at the official site, ahead of April 2020 Star Wars comics’ solicitations, Dan Brooks interviewed the scribe of the upcoming relaunch of Doctor Aphra, Alyssa Wong, revealing new details like a heavy Indiana Jones-esque plot and a whole host of new and intriguing characters. And at THR, IDW announced a 5-issue anthology miniseries, Star Wars Adventures: The Clone Wars – Battle Tales, where clones share war stories (UPDATE: Check out our interview with the series’ writer, Michael Moreci). Head below for more details on each!

UPDATE: Due to the growing pandemic, comic distributor Diamond Comics has halted shipping starting in April. Marvel won’t be releasing issues digitally and IDW certainly won’t unless it’s on a store shelf, so it’s very much up in the air when these comics will end up seeing the light of day. It’s an unfortunate, but understandable move. Battle Tales has a new tentative release for June, but no word on what Marvel is thinking for Aphra’s relaunch. I’ll update as soon as we learn! UPDATE 5/2/20: Battle Tales‘ first issue will hit May 20 and Aphra #1 will hit May 27! Continue reading “Comic News: Doctor Aphra Vol. 2 Details Revealed, The Clone Wars Comic from IDW Announced”

The Clone Wars Returns Panel (SWCC 2019)

One of the best things about the upcoming Disney+ revival of The Clone Wars is finally seeing unproduced content Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo have been teasing over the past few years come to life on the screen: Anakin granting Ahsoka her own battalion; Ahsoka adjusting to life without the Jedi Order and down in the Coruscant underworld; more of Clone Force 99; and of course the Siege of Mandalore. While it’ll only be 12 episodes, the trailer above sure makes it look like it’ll be 12 episodes of pure TCW adrenaline. You can find the trailer at the 52:18 mark in the video above, while below I go over what we learned about some of this content at prior conventions. SDCC 2018: The Clone Wars Returns, Coming to Disney’s Streaming Service

The wealth of content left unseen from the team behind the The Clone Wars series has been the stuff of legends for years, with The Clone Wars Legacy trickling out small doses of unproduced content in the form of incomplete episodes and novels. In the last few Celebrations, there have been peaks at what they had planned for the show from the likes of Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo, showing off concept art and clips from more unproduced episodes. Recently, Star Wars Rebels picked up with some of the show’s characters years later, offering some sense of closure to their story or starting their next chapter. But now the wait for more of the still unproduced content is over, as brand new episodes surrounding the events of “The Siege of Mandalore” are coming to a small screen near you via Disney’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service (Disney+)!!!! Check out the amazing teaser above and below you’ll not only find a video of the panel in its entirety, but I’ll discuss what we’ve already learned about the “Siege” storyline, as well as look at what content they teased in the past (Ahsoka’s first boyfriend, Boba’s rise in the bounty hunter ranks, a trip to Kashyyyk with the Bad Batch, and….the Yuuzhan Vong !?!).
