Jedi: Survivor Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Thanks to this year’s The Game Awards, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor received its first gameplay trailer, giving us our first look at how the sequel will build off the previous entry’s sold underpinnings while taking advantage of current-gen technology. I’m already bracing for the lack of stealth options and inability to not kill poor, innocent creatures, but everything else I’m seeing in this trailer looks like a beautiful expansion on Fallen Order’s strengths, which Survivor is set 5 years after (at around the same time as Obi-Wan Kenobi). Out March 17, only a week after its prequel novel on April 28 now, a month after Battle Scars, Jedi: Survivor will hit PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Head below for screenshots from the trailer (Cere Junda’s look new look, Cal’s new pal Brode) and pre-order bonuses (leaked and not leaked)! News: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Trailer, Jedi Battle Scars Cover Revealed, The Mandalorian S3 Premieres March 1

jedi battle scars cover revealed news

While we are primarily a Star Wars blog, Lucasfilm does more than Star Wars (I’m going to start watching the Willow show soon), the mynocks would never let me not mention Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny had its first trailer today (which you can watch below the cut). Back to Star Wars, the upcoming novel Jedi: Battle Scars by Sam Maggs had its full cover revealed and a blurb with intriguing new details, along with a confirmed release date of March 7. The fun doesn’t end there, as on March 1, and overlapping with The Bad Batch’s second season, The Mandalorian’s third season premieres. Head below for the new Battle Scars details and its full cover! Video Game Review: LEGO Star Wars – The Skywalker Saga

LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga Review MynockManor

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the first new LEGO Star Wars game since 2016’s The Force Awakens, one that didn’t quite impress in the short demo I played for it. But the prospect of playing across all 9 Star Wars films, three of them never attempted before in LEGO Star Wars game form, with a giant galaxy map full of LEGO antics to explore and collect, sounded way too good to be true. And in 2022 it came true, as LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga released, bringing with it the largest plethora of content to enjoy in a LEGO game to date, and despite an overwhelming beginning, the galaxy opens with possibilities the more you play. But when many objectives outside the main story feel rote and the staggering amount of bricks and characters to collect continues to add up, it begs the question if the game needed to be this big, especially considering the human toll such labors took. There’s no denying this a fun, excellent way to play the Saga for fans of any age, but it’s important to keep the other issues in mind. Board Game Review: Star Wars Villainous – Power of the Dark Side

Star Wars Villainous Power Dark Side Review

After adapting the world of Disney’s original villains for a new board game, Disney Villainous, the wizards at Ravensburger decided to start conquering other universes, first diving into Marvel’s vast store of villains, and now (after much hoping by many fans), they found themselves in a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars Villainous. Building off the core gameplay of the Disney Villainous series, while adding new complexions which both require time to learn but bring new strategies to bare, Star Wars Villainous: Power of the Dark Side is a worthy new Villainous venture and a great addition to the vast world of Star Wars board gaming. Jedi: Survivor Trailer, 2023 Release Revealed (SWCA 2022)

The moody first teaser for the Jedi: Fallen Order sequel, Jedi: Survivor (confirmed back in January), is more confusing than revealing, but at least BD-1 is in it, so there’s that! Set 5 years after Fallen Order, Survivor promises to expand just about everything from the first, more dynamic planets, lean even heavier into the bond between Cal and BD-1, expand combat even more (please please please stealth options), and more. Ponder of what the teaser means, and check out some screenshots from it below, though at least we won’t have to wait much longer: Jedi: Survivor launches in 2023! Star Wars Gaming Respawns: Jedi Fallen Order Sequel, New FPS, and Strategy Game Announced

Respawn Star Wars Games Incoming

While EA Games lost the exclusive rights to Star Wars games, that doesn’t mean they won’t still be behind some new titles, which Lucasfilm Games and EA confirmed with the news Respawn Entertainment will be leading the charge of new Star Wars games for EA. They have three games in active development, starting with a new Star Wars: Jedi entry, aka a sequel to Jedi – Fallen Order, and two unnamed games, a FPS (or first-person shooter) and a strategy game. For those curious if there’s still an opportunity for Battlefront III, it looks like that’s completely axed and Respawn will exclusively be behind new Star Wars games. It is disappointing Lucasfilm Games didn’t take a moment to address any of the Star Wars Eclipse controversary, instead choosing to announce more games and ignore it, but hopefully there’s a time and place for that soon. Regardless, head below for more details on the upcoming games. Continue reading “Star Wars Gaming Respawns: Jedi Fallen Order Sequel, New FPS, and Strategy Game Announced”

Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge — Last Call Releases September 15, New Trailer

Less than a month ago, we got our first details and trailer for Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Last Call expansion, though much like the most recent LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga trailer, it didn’t have a release date beyond Fall 2021. All that changed today with the final trailer, an expansive look at the big update to the game, which reveals it’ll drop in two short weeks for Oculus Quest: September 15! For only $10, Last Call looks to add tons of new content to the game, from a wide variety of new characters to interact with, two new side tales (one starring Ady Sun’Zee again and the other IG-88), and a larger main story with new enemy types and tons of puzzles. Head below for a few more thoughts, the added cast, and then check back sometime later this month for a review! Video Game Review: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Part I

Tales from the Galaxy's Edge Part 1 Review Mynock Manor

Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Part I is ILMxLAB’s latest Star Wars VR game for the Oculus Quest, which trades in lightsabers, Force powers, and Mustafar of the Vader Immortal series with blasters, smugglers, and Batuu wilds. Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Part 1 is a far more game-like experience, with various objectives, side-quests, and mini-games, which has its own benefits and drawbacks in the opening episode of the latest series.
