Galaxy’s Edge Previews Roll In: Rides, Merchandise, Food, and Drinks!

The doors to Batuu’s Black Spire Outpost, aka Galaxy’s Edge, were opened early to select news sites, allowing the world to get a glimpse at what’s in store for the first Star Wars theme park. The official site has a plethora of coverage across several articles: Starting with Dan Brook’s article regarding the story behind the park, cool new details on the two rides, Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run (pilot the Falcon (!) after meeting an animatronic Honda Ohnaka (!!)) and Rise of the Resistance (where Daisy Ridely, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, and Adam Driver reprise their roles), and how the Play Disney Parks app is integrated into the park; then he details the food and drink available, like Blue AND Green Milk, Meiloorun Juice, the Fuzzy Tauntaun,  Fried Endorian Tip-Yip, and more (which will all be available to cook at home with an upcoming cookbook!); of course there’s a lot of in-universe merchandise to pick up, from ancient Jedi/Sith artifacts at Dok-Ondar’s shop (who is staring in an upcoming comic series), build your own lightsabers and droids, and some little handmade plush toys; and lastly, a giant article summing up all three of them. You can check out other coverage from sites like: Nerdist, io9, EW, and THR. Check below for a video (and article) about the Hondo animatronic, as well as the rest of our previous Galaxy’s Edge coverage.

Here’s the brief video of Hondo, who looks absolutely spectacular! It’s pretty amazing to see a character who has been primarily been in animation brought into real life and look this freaking good. Head to the Popular Mechanics for a detailed look at the history of animatronics and some insights into how insanely advanced Hondo is.

And now some various images released of the food, drinks, and park, and below that, the rest of our coverage, including details about the upcoming publishing program tie-ins!
