The Sith fleet is freed upon the galaxy – and Luke Skywalker is there to meet them head on! As political turmoil erupts within the Imperial Remnant and Galactic Alliance, the whole galaxy is looking toward a massive shakeup. Join the Legendary Adventures as we read Fate of the Jedi: Backlash!

On Sinkhole Station, Luke Skywalker and his son, Ben, have just survived one of the most frightening – and surprising – ambushes of their lives. The Sith are back, and in force. No longer bound by Darth Bane’s Rule of Two, legions of Sith are coming from the planet Kesh, and unknown to Luke, are following a mysterious dark being known as Abeloth, whom they’ve encounted only recently. Luke and Ben let one Sith escape the ambush, a young woman named Vestara Khai, and she travels to Dathomir. They follow her and call their family (Leia Organa-Solo, Han Solo, Jaina, Allana, and the droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO) to join them. There, the heroes encounter a tribe of Dathomiri women, the Raining Leaves, and another filled with Dathomiri men called the Broken Columns. These two clans plan to join together, but are beset by Nightsisters, who attack the clans with their dark magik and rancors. Allana and the droids escape an attempt to kidnap them, a well known and well tread facet of Jaina and her late brother Jacen’s childhoods. The Nightsisters are mostly repelled, and destroyed, leading to the unification of the tribes.

fate of the jedi backlash full coverVestara Khai uses this chance to work with the Nightsisters and contact the Sith. The Sith come to Dathomir and take over the remaining Nightsisters, bringing them into their cause. The Nightsisters are broken, and Vestara is forced to let Luke and Ben leave Dathomir. Unfortuntaely, as they leave, they are confronted by an entire fleet of Sith ships, preventing their escape. Luke shuts off his ship and prepares to meet the Sith in space.

Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, public opinion is going wild. On one hand, it’s growing in slight distaste toward the Jedi as more of them succumb to some sort of madness in the Force. Public opinion is also turning against former-Moff-now-Chief-of-State Natasi Daala. In her last attempt to take down the Jedi (after first exiling Grand Master Luke Skywalker), she attacked the Jedi with a group of Mandalorian mercenaries in an effort to recover Jedi they had hidden away to study the Force madness. She is also facing scrutiny for the public trial of Tahiri Veila, who killed former Imperial Remnant leader Pallaeon. Uncharged, however, is the former accomplice to Sith Lord Darth Caedus, and friend of Daala, Cha Niathal. Niathal is asked to come to trial for her part in Caedus’s machinations, but she takes her own life instead. This forces Daala’s hand: as she talks with Han and Leia, she realizes she needs to extend an olive branch toward the Jedi Order.

There is also a bit of tension in the Imperial Remnant, who, at this rate, are more and more hesitant to work with the Galactic Alliance. A high ranking officer, Drickl Leceron, is arranging for assassination attempts on the current leader, Jagged Fel. An attack on Jag, and the Solos, later on is designed to look like it had been arranged by Daala as part of Lecersen’s efforts to drive a further wedge between the Imperial Remnant, Alliance, and Jedi. Jag sees through it, and he begins investigating his own leadership, as who can tell who are Allies…find out in the next Legendary Adventures!
