With October closing in, our first look at the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales special arrived with the trailer above. It looks about as you’d expect from another LEGO special, humorous, delightful, and full of winks and nods to all parts of the universe and pop-culture at large. I will say, I felt like Christian Slater for Ren’s voice, the leader of the Knight of Ren before Ben Solo, would be absolutely perfect and the trailer confirms it, so I’m already sold. Head below for details on the three scary tales Darth Vader’s old servant Vaneé will tell visitors to the new Vader’s Castle Hotel and check out the short when it hits Disney+ on October 1!
According to the official site, the three terrifying tales are:
“The Lost Boy,” the story of how a young Ben Solo first meets Ren; “The Dueling Monstrosities,” which imagines how Darth Maul and General Grievous were reborn; and “The Wookiee’s Paw,” which gives a look at what might have been if all of Luke Skywalker’s greatest wishes were immediately granted.
If you want the canon, non-LEGO first meeting between Ben Solo and Ren, look no further than the brilliant but short The Rise of Kylo Ren comic miniseries, but this one looks both funny and scary, with those zombie-like Jedi Padawans haunting Ben. The remaining tales look fun, with the last almost a What If? for Luke joining the Empire.
