Darth Vader #11

Spoiler Review –

Inspector Thanoth gets ever closer to uncovering the truth about the missing Imperial credits, forcing Aphra, her two destructive droids, and Vader into some really tight spots. Aphra fans (like myself), things aren’t looking so good for our favorite archaeologist after Darth Vader #11.

Darth Vader #10

Spoiler Review –

Doctor Aphra takes the murderous bots of doom to Naboo to have a little chat with a man named Tahn, while we learn Vader might be underestimating his adjutant Thanoth in Darth Vader #10, another solid entry in the series that stays par for the course. Canon Comic Review: Darth Vader #9

Darth Vader #9 issue

Spoiler Review –

Aphra makes headway on the information Vader requested (leading to a possibly very surprising and intriguing moment in the series ahead), while Vader and Inspector Thanoth play a game of cat and mouse, acting like a Sherlock and Watson who never truly trusts each other. Darth Vader‘s #9 issue is another solid entry in the series. Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: Darth Vader #9”

Darth Vader #8

Spoiler Review –

Darth Vader‘s second arc picks up steam in issue #8, where Aprha’s plan to steal a large Imperial-held sum of credits with the help of bounty hunters takes some fun turns and Grand General Tagge makes a much appreciated, and very problematic (for Vader), return to the fold. Chewbacca and Vader Down Series

Marvel’s Star Wars comics, outside of Kanan – The Last Padawan, have stayed in the nice little comfort zone of between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. While they have some “Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens” material coming (Shattered Empire and a C-3P0 series), they announced at SDCC 2015 they’ll stay within their comfort era awhile longer with a Chewbacca mini-series and the “Vader Down” crossover event (Update: Reviews for “Vader Down” begin!). Marvel's Darth Vader #7 Review

Following up on the excellent Darth Vader #6 was never going to be easy, especially since it was linked expertly with Star Wars #6, but somehow the team behind DV have managed quite well in #7 and certainly better than I would’ve ever expected. Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: Darth Vader #7”

Darth Vader #5

Spoiler Review –

Darth Vader uncovers what the Emperor has been planning behind his back and it’s…well, let’s just say Darth Vader #5 doesn’t do a perfect job explaining it, but it’s a highly unexpected research project that raises tons of questions and opens up intriguing new avenues never before explored in Star Wars. Darth Vader #3

Spoiler Review –

Vader makes a highly entertaining, and slightly referential, friend in Doctor Aphra and her two newly restored and insanely deadly droids. Who knew Darth Vader having a BFF could be exactly what we’d want to see/would work so well? Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: Darth Vader #3”
