Summer is in the air, flowers are in full bloom, and you are probably just like me, trying to avoid allergies and get to your local comic shop to pick up the latest Star Wars comics! June 2023’s Star Wars comic solicitations foretell quite the month, from Anakin and Yoda going toe-to-toe with Megadroids (a name as Star Wars as it gets), the excellent Sana Starros miniseries takes its final bow, Aphra’s hanging out with Luke, Vader’s hanging out with….Aphra, and Luke is hanging out with…..a different doctor? Since 2015, Sana Starros has been intermixing across various comics, often in a supporting role or co-lead role, be it coming after Han Solo for a botched job or either trying to kill or save her ex, Doctor Aphra, and now she’s taking the spotlight in this eponymous miniseries, a long overdue right for such a memorable and intriguing character. Written by Justina Ireland, with art by Pere Pérez, Sana Starros #1 explodes with a infectious energy thanks to a snappy, intriguing script and vibrant art that promises a beautiful yet wild ride across the miniseries’ 5 issues. Star Wars Comics March 2023 Solicitations

As we look ahead to March 2023 Star Wars comics with the latest solicitations, we look to have an embarrassment of riches. And the month is already packed, from Jedi: Survivor coming out, it’s novel tie-in, The Bad Batch‘s second season on-going, and The Mandalorian‘s third season begins, to name a few things…and now all these comics?!?! There’s the penultimate issue in Qi’ra’s final fight against the Sith, the end of Spark Eternal Saga in the Doctor Aphra series, the start of the Return of the Jedi anniversary one-shots, Han Solo & Chewbacca‘s ending teasing the next big event (which I might not be looking forward to), and so much more! Canon Comic Review: Revelations (2022) #1

Star Wars Revelations #1 is a special one-shot issue which finds Darth Vader in the Eye of the Webbish Bog’s presence again, allowing writer Marc Guggenheim to weave a tale regarding how the many creatives behind this current era of comics are telling a larger, connected story while also offering intriguing glimpses at what might be coming for next year’s content. Both prophetic and overbearing, Revelations #1 has more questions than answers, but it makes for an interesting concept to showcase what will come next, hinting at a storyline I’m both excited for but worried this medium won’t be able to do justice.
