We’ve had some rather great Women’s History and Black History Month variants this year, so the wait has seemed longer to finally see 2024’s Pride Month variants! There aren’t as many series out in June as there has been in the past, so there’s only four covers this year, but they make the most of it with having only one returning perennial character appearance! After the stunning work for the Black History Month and Women’s History Month variant covers, there’s been increased anticipation for 2023’s Pride Month variants and after today’s reveal of the first handful (I’ll update this article as the rest roll in), they might just be the best batch of Pride Month variants yet! Featuring work done by LGBTQIA+ artists, characters like Sana Starros, Domina Tagge, Kantam Sy, and even Cinta and Vel from Andor will grace the covers, among others. Once again, Marvel and Star Wars’ comics celebrate Pride Month in June with special Pride variant covers! While last year’s crop had some issues, this year’s are replete with far better displays of LGBTQIA+ representation, though there are still some concerns, with covers featuring Doctor Aphra (of course!), Kho Phon Farrus, T’onga and Losha, Vi Moradi, and more! Announced back in March, we’ve since seen two of the six Pride Month covers coming from Marvel in June, and now all six have been revealed! They’re a gorgeous collection of some of the Saga’s finest LGBTQ+ characters to date, like Doctor Aphra, Yrica Quell, Grand Admiral Sloane, Lando Calrissian, Sana Starros, and twins Ceret and Terec.
