Star Wars Comics July 2022 Solicitations

Star-Wars-Comics-July-2022-Solicitations

July is set to be a refreshing month for Star Wars comics, as many of the current series’ reach their 25th issue mark, closing out storylines and beginning new ones…well, if they actually come out in July. Unfortunately, the global issues with shipping, printing, and paper are still affecting comics and many of April, May, and June’s have slipped into different months, with several from June and even May releasing in July now. So these issue below likely won’t be out in July due to the landslide effects (maybe August?), but they are exciting looks at where things will go once the Star Wars comics get there. Check out “July’s” Star Wars comic solicitations below, where we see Sana Starros leading a crew to rescue Aphra (?!?), the chaos Qi’ra unleashes on the galaxy, a deadly mission during the Clone Wars for Obi-Wan, and more! Star Wars Comics June 2022 Solicitations

Star-Wars-Comics-June-2022-Solicitations

Compared to last June‘s Star Wars comics solicitations, 2022 might not have anything as big as the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, in fact we have a break from Qi’ra’s comic trilogy, but it is packed with issues that should interest fans of all eras. June kicks off The Mandalorian‘s adaptation comic, Qui-Gon Jinn guest appearances in the Obi-Wan comic (and maybe Obi-Wan show!), Chelli Aphra has to battle her memories to escape her latest problems, while Charles Soule digs up tales across his Star Wars comics career for a truly spectacular and epic 25th issue for his current Star Wars run. June will once again have Pride Month variants, though they haven’t been revealed yet and I have some hopes Lucasfilm/Marvel will do a little better this time around (especially in light of everything going on with the company). Head below for all the details on Star Wars comics’ June 2022 solicitations! UPDATED 4/13: There’s been a lot of delays at the moment, so you’ll find a few June comics are actually ones from either April or May…I’ve updated the dates for the original June releases below. Canon Comic Review: War of the Bounty Hunters – IG-88 #1

War of the Bounty Hunters IG-88 #1 Review Mynock Manor

– Spoiler Review –

The last of the one-shots for the big crossover, War of the Bounty Hunters – IG-88 #1 presents some intriguing ideas by writer Rodney Barnes for the titular droid and droid sentience in general, has some stellar, understated art by Guiu Vilanova, but some confusing elements prevent it from reaching the highs of the previous one-shots. Canon Comic Review: Lando – Double or Nothing #5 / Miniseries Review (UPDATED)

Lando Double or Nothing #5

– Spoiler Review –

Lando – Double or Nothing issue #5 doesn’t save the series, but it brings it to a respectful end. Head below for what I’m now also considering the full miniseries review. Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: Lando – Double or Nothing #5 / Miniseries Review (UPDATED)”

Canon Comic Review: Lando – Double or Nothing #4

Lando Double or Nothing #4

– Spoiler Review –

Lando – Double or Nothing issue #4 once again shows how this miniseries struggles to captivate or pull off a completely satisfying characterization of it’s smooth, suave lead. Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: Lando – Double or Nothing #4”

Canon Comic Review: Lando – Double or Nothing #2

Lando Double or Nothing #2

– Spoiler Review –

Lando – Double or Nothing #2 retains the fun and pace of the opening issue, but it makes Lando talk a little too much, something I never thought I’d hear myself say/see myself write. Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: Lando – Double or Nothing #2”

Star Wars Comics September 2018 Solicitations

Star Wars Comics September 2018 Solicitations

September’s solicitations for Star Wars comics are in and while it sure seems to be an exciting month, from Vader visiting the place of his birth, Aphra finding herself in the crosshairs of multiple old foes, to plenty of “Hope” dying for the heroes of the Rebellion as the Empire starts to strike back, it’s also a sad month for the comics. Two miniseries, the new Lando and The Last Jedi adaptation, come to an end, but the biggest blow is Poe Dameron‘s adventures coming to a close for good. Head on below for a glimpse at what’s ahead and help you mourn the loss of Poe. Continue reading “Star Wars Comics September 2018 Solicitations”

Canon Comic Review: Lando – Double or Nothing #1

Lando Double or Nothing #1

– Spoiler Review –

Lando – Double or Nothing issue #1, written by Rodney Barnes, with art from Paolo Villanelli and Andres Mossa, is the beginning of a 5-issue miniseries focusing on a Lando and L3 adventure pre-Solo: A Star Wars Story. If the rest of the mini can keep the sense of fun and pitch-perfect Lando, readers could be in for quite the treat. Continue reading “Canon Comic Review: Lando – Double or Nothing #1”
