October is set to be an eventful month, as my wife and I finally will have our postponed wedding ceremony and go on our honeymoon, and maybe celebrate my birthday in there somewhere! So it’s little anxiety inducing for me to see that it’ll also be an eventful month for Star Wars comics: The High Republic era deals with some shocking events in the most recent novel releases, while the months-long epic mega crossover event War of the Bounty Hunters comes to its conclusion in October, where it promises to change the status quo of Star Wars comics. September is not a favorite month for many, as it means the return to school and the advent of colder weather here in the Northern Hemisphere. If there’s one thing to look forward to however, never count out another packed month of Star Wars comics! Star Wars Comics August 2021 Solicitations

With the on-going War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, every month looks packed for Star Wars comics, but August’s solicitations seem to have to unpack than the months before. There’s a big convergence of High Republic characters in a big, upcoming battle with the deadly Drengir, a battle royale with Jabba the Hutt, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker has gone missing…again, and holy forking shirtballs Doctor Aphra and Sana Starros come face-to-face with Vader! Star Wars Comics July 2021 Solicitations

By July, with the War of the Bounty Hunters mega-crossover in full swing, you might find yourself if the frozen popsicle of Han Solo will really be worth all this trouble or you might be enjoying the shenanigans of this interconnected, multi-series story too much to sweat the small stuff. As the solicitations for July’s Star Wars comics promise (so far, as these are only initial ones via the official site’s blog, so expect updates later this week. War of the Bounty Hunters Hype Week Roundup

The deal with the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover keeps getting larger all the time! Initially it seemed like this would be a simple crossover that led to a miniseries, but it became clear that was just a small part of Marvel’s big plan for this storyline. Over at the official site, they’ve spent most of the week unveiling variant covers from artist Giuseppe Camuncoli (Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith), though they ended with a neat look with artist Steve McNiven behind-the-scenes of the upcoming Alpha issue that launches the whole crossover, and the announcement of 4 extra tie-ins that flesh out the crossovers’ story. Star Wars Comics June 2021 Solicitations

Clearly we all underestimated the upcoming War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, as the June 2021 Star Wars comics solicitations reveal it not only has the prelude issues in May, but it’ll have both the miniseries and tie-in issues going forward, through October! And here I was originally assuming this would lead into a Shadows of the Empire-type event, but it seems this is that big event itself! So read on below to learn about Chewbacca battling Valance (expect limbs to be lost!), Vader and Ochi going up against IG-88 (is there enough ‘man’ left in Vader to defeat this machine?), and Doctor Aphra and Sana Starros come face to face with….DURGE?! Yes, that Durge! Also coming in June, Pride Variant covers, which is a nice touch though I wish they could’ve offered more, like a full issue of Pride-related Star Wars tales…but I’ll take this for now! Star Wars Comics May 2021 Solicitations

May is always a time of celebration for Star Wars fans thanks to all the goodness surrounding the May the Fourth holiday and this year should be extra special considering it’s Lucasfilm’s 50th Anniversary!! With Star Wars comics, the May solicitations reveal there’s a bounty to enjoy…for Boba Fett fans, at least. Wait, what? That’s right, the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover takes over most of May’s comics, though the excellent The High Republic-related comics will continue on as is, revealing the secrets of Star Wars history.
