Emerick Caphtor and Sian Holt’s investigation into the death of Loden Greatstorm has been one stellar issue after another, full of noir and style, humor and compassion, terror even. Well, it’s all lead to this, The High Republic – Trail of Shadows #5, another fantastic issue that, as writer Daniel José Older promised on a livestream not too long ago, reveals everything and nothing in the best way possible, though what’s most important is how it all shakes out for the characters involved. Cataclysmic and galaxy-shaking events reverberate throughout all High Republic content, while Sabé returns to haunt Darth Vader’s life, the Star Wars hotel tie-in has some exciting faces to explore, and a few of January’s issues slip into the month. Check them out below! Continue reading “Star Wars Comics February 2022 Solicitations”

Canon Comic Review: The High Republic – Trail of Shadows #1

High Republic Trail of Shadows 1 Review Mynock Manor

– Spoiler Review –

The latest entry in the High Republic era, one of my most anticipated, is unlike anything before it, a creepy, dread-drenched noir mystery miniseries, Trail of Shadows. Written by Daniel José Older, with an art team of David Wachter, Giada Marchisio, and Joe Sabino, Trail of Shadows #1 is phenomenal, unforgettable opening issue which will worm its way into your brain, as a Jedi investigator digs into the death of *SPOILER* at end of The Rising Storm and a private eye finds herself on a dangerous investigation of her own. Star Wars Comics December 2021 Solicitations

Star Wars Comics December 2021 Solicitations

Normally December is a month of mid-winter celebrations, but Star Wars comics looks to be anything but joyous and cheerful, as the underworld is in chaos due to Crimson Dawn’s startling return, Vader’s leading a crew to take them down, Aphra and Sana find themselves dealing with an ancient cult (if they’re elves, that would at least be festive), while The High Republic era content doesn’t seem any more uplifting with murder investigations and the deadly Lourna Dee holding a lightsaber. Grab yourself some spiked eggnog, you’re going to need it, before checking out December 2021’s Star Wars comic solicitations! Continue reading “Star Wars Comics December 2021 Solicitations”

Star Wars Comics November 2021 Solicitations

Star Wars Comics November 2021 Solicitations

By November 2021, Star Wars comics will be changed forever by the events of the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, but one look at these solicitations and you’d wonder how it sounds much different than what’s come before…though of course they weren’t going to reveal how everything will change via these solicits! The official site’s post with the early preview suggests, “As the story ends, the…landscape will find a new status quo,” so it sounds like November will deal with the fallout from the crossover’s events. It sounds like an intriguing month anyways, with each series dealing with the fallout of Qi’ra and Crimson Dawn’s return while The High Republic era has some potentially big revelations. Head below for the November 2021 Star Wars comics solicitations now! Continue reading “Star Wars Comics November 2021 Solicitations”

October is set to be an eventful month, as my wife and I finally will have our postponed wedding ceremony and go on our honeymoon, and maybe celebrate my birthday in there somewhere!
