Darth Vader #13 is part 2 of the crossover event between it and the Star Wars series called Vader Down. With Vader stranded on Vrogas Vas, surrounded by rebels and with more on the way, he proves why he’s a Dark Lord of the Sith by not letting anything stand in the way of him reaching his son, who’s also stranded on the planet. Star Wars: The Perfect Weapon is a short story that is part of the “Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” written by Delilah S. Dawson, and centers on spy-for-hire Bazine Netal and her latest mission. Overall, The Perfect Weapon is an enjoyable spy-fi romp in the Star Wars universe, with a strong central character in Bazine, but it tends to be predictable thanks to its over-reliance on spy genre tropes (though that same reliance is what makes it enjoyable in the first place). Sabine Wren takes center stage in Star Wars Rebels‘ “Blood Sisters,” where a person from her past gets in the way of a simple courier mission in the present. After having two weeks in a row focusing on the female characters of the series, I can honestly say both episode have been among the season’s (and series’) best, with “Blood Sisters” taking the jogan fruit out of the two.
