Star Wars Rebels Review: “In the Name of the Rebellion”

Star Wars Rebels In the Name of the Rebellion

– Spoiler Review –

Star Wars Rebels‘ final season gets another high octane hour with, “In the Name of the Rebellion,” which doesn’t managed to upstage the premiere but matches it in nearly every way possible, while deepening the series’ connective tissue with Rogue One. If this is the level they’ll maintain all season, we’re in for quite the final treat. Continue reading “Star Wars Rebels Review: “In the Name of the Rebellion””

Video Game News Roundup: Battlefront II Campaign Trailer, Beta Impressions and Visceral Games’ Project “Shifting”

With less than a month to release, we’ve finally been treated to the first singe-player focused trailer for Battlefront II, which just recently finished its multiplayer beta. I have some impressions from the Beta experience (no video this year, sorry!), which was bigger, better, but contained some concerning aspects (progression, loot boxes). And in very disappointing news, Visceral Games has been shut down, their Star Wars game shifting to a different studio and direction, with Amy Hennig’s participation in question. Read on for more details! Continue reading “Video Game News Roundup: Battlefront II Campaign Trailer, Beta Impressions and Visceral Games’ Project “Shifting””

Han Solo and the Title Gambit: Solo – A Star Wars Story

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Shaken by a director change up and an extended shooting schedule, the untitled young Han Solo film has been quietly gaining some good PR thanks to new director Ron Howard’s teases over social media. And now we can call it something other than untitled Han Solo, because thanks to the film wrapping production, it finally received an official and unsurprising titleSolo, which is still scheduled for May 25, 2018. Check out some of Mr. Howard’s recent photos and reveals from the set below, along with some other updates! Continue reading “Han Solo and the Title Gambit: Solo – A Star Wars Story”

– Spoiler Review –

This review focuses mainly on Part 2 of the Star Wars Rebels’ final season premiere episode, “Heroes of Mandalore,” but it also sums up my feelings on the entire episode, feelings that have changed in both pluses and minuses since seeing only the first half at April’s Celebration Orlando. The whole review will tell you one thing though: why I’d say this is the best premiere episode of the series. Novel Review: Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View

Star Wars From a Certain Point of View

Minor Spoiler Review –

There have been short story collections in the Star Wars universe before, but nothing quite like this! From a Certain Point of View gathers together 43 authors for 40 stories giving us new perspectives on Episode IV: A New Hope, as a celebration of the film’s 40th Anniversary (bonus: all the author proceeds go to the charity First Book!). In short, the stories within had me crying, laughing, and filled me up with joyous wonder, much like A New Hope did and continues to do 40 years later, which is a pretty fitting way to celebrate the 40th anniversary, if you ask me! The Last Jedi Theatrical Trailer and Poster are Here!

Since Director Rian Johnson didn’t actually tell anyone to avoid the trailer, I’m hoping you’ve watched it already. If not, PLEASE DO SO ABOVE. If you don’t, your power with the Force is strong indeed. For those of who can’t wait the next 66 days (Order 66, anyone?), let’s talk thoughts because my immediate ones were nothing but swear words. Who exactly was Snoke talking to the whole time? Luke frightened by Rey’s power is surprising. Leia’s calm demeanor as Kylo is torn inside once again on whether to pull the trigger. Finn and Phasma. And that final shot?!?! The Last Jedi looks to be both exhilarating and heading towards unexpected directions. More thoughts below, including screengrabs and the poster!
