{Updated} D23 2026: Ahsoka Trailer Goes Big for January 20 Premiere, Starfighter Trailer Leaks, Ben Solo Movie Hint?

With 2027 barreling towards us whether we like it or not, it was time for Lucasfilm to peel back some glimpses of what fans can expect on the big and little screens. At the D23 convention, they did just that, showcasing what appears to be a much bigger season for Ahsoka, which launches on January 20, 2027, with massive battles and a much better sense of scale than season one, judging by the trailer alone. Starfighter had its moment too, officially revealing a new poster with a new logo, but the leaked trailer is out there (which I break down below) if you look hard enough, also teasing a small focus with big potential. Comic News: Marvel x Star Wars Crossover Comeths For Us All in 2027

With Star Wars: A New Hope‘s big 50th Anniversary in 2027, it’s inevitable we’ll be swamped with nostalgic content for the original, even as new stories are released, like Starfighter and Ahsoka season two. We already know about A New Hope returning to cinemas in its ‘original‘ form in February 2027 and we just learned about Mad Cave Comics and their upcoming A New Hope – Triple Take comic which retells the story, also scheduled for Feb 2027. But what no one had on their bingo cards was a comic event unlike any other (for Star Wars at least) before it: Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles, a crossover between the Star Wars universe and Marvel comics, written by Kevin Smith with art by David Marquez, launching in January 2027. I see the potential, but considering the throes of comic woes of late, this announcement isn’t drumming up the excitement it could’ve. Head below for the details, the covers, and my consternations. Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi Premiere Review: “A New Threat”

It’s weird to think, from clamoring for more of certain Visions stories to the continuations in comics and novels, we’re now at an unprecedented moment; a Visions short getting its own full-blown series! And what better place to start than with the world of “The Ninth Jedi,” a riveting, energetic, lore-packed, and heart-felt short that begged for expansion from the get-go. While its season three sequel short was a slow-burn reminder of the series’ and world’s potential, the opening episode of Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi “A New Threat” blows the door wide open with all its potential on display. It’s packed to the brim with story and expansions of the world that will make long-time fans happy we got more and new ones curious to keep watching. Canon Novel Review: Eyes Like Stars

While there have been plenty of Star Wars novels with romantic subplots and through lines, it’s Ashley Poston’s Eyes Like Stars that’s been christened the first romance novel. The pull between leads Ardent Quay and Sian is certainly a much bigger focus than ever before in Star Wars, yet how Poston handles the romance amongst an entertaining story in a journey across the stars with a lot to say about the shiny little planet we all live on, makes it a romance worth seeking out. Star Wars Comics October 2026 Solicitations

You know what’s spooky….all the tie-ins and adaptations clogging up the comics in October! Marvel does finally unload the final two issues of their Rogue One tie-ins that ends with Vader doing frightening Vader things, plus they’re offering new and scary threats for Kylo Ren to face, while Dark Horse has a unsettling sounding finale to its The High Republic Adventures – Pathfinders miniseries, so even the content inside the comics has some festive fall frights to enjoy. Yet, they won’t be alone this year, as Mad Cave Studios really steps up to the plate with more original graphic novels! Head below for October 2026’s Star Wars Comics solicitations.

SDCC ’26 Publishing Panels Roundup: Luke & Leia Jedi Training Novel, Mad Cave’s X-Wing Academy, and More!

The Publishing arm of the Star Wars franchise had three panels on Friday at SDCC 2026, so we gathered all the news and details into one place! The biggest announcement was Beth Revis’ April 2027 novel, Star Wars: Twin Crossroads, which will cover Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa training together as Jedi, while new entrant in the all-ages section of comics Mad Cave Studios and their Papercutz imprint offered up X-Wing Academy, which takes place in the New Republic era!
