Marvel Star Wars Comics Panel: Yoda Miniseries, Visions Comics Announced (SWCA 2022)

While earlier panels, like the publishing one and The High Republic‘s gave us glimpses at some of the various upcoming comics from both Dark Horse and Marvel, the latter’s output got its own time to shine. It explored some of what’s to come on series we already know and love and revealed two exciting upcoming projects: a Yoda miniseries spanning different eras of the little green guy’s life and Star Wars: Visions related comics as well! Star Wars Comics August 2022 Solicitations

With less than a week before Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022, here are the August Star Wars comics solicitations, which include the beginning of Dark Horse’s return to the Saga with their all-ages input! Most of the issues in the solicitations will actually hit in August, as it seems the delays are back under control for now, but a few issues from prior months are scheduled to come out in August 2022 as well, so I’ve made sure to reference them too. Otherwise, feast your harvest-season eyes on T’onga’s final bid to save Cadeliah from Qi’ra’s Crimson Dawn, the next glimpse of Obi-Wan’s past, Chewie behind bars (again, but like can’t he just bend them?), and Darth Vader facing his most feared enemy…sand??!!? 2022’s Star Wars Comics Pride Month Variants Revealed!

Once again, Marvel and Star Wars’ comics celebrate Pride Month in June with special Pride variant covers! While last year’s crop had some issues, this year’s are replete with far better displays of LGBTQIA+ representation, though there are still some concerns, with covers featuring Doctor Aphra (of course!), Kho Phon Farrus, T’onga and Losha, Vi Moradi, and more! While not all issues will release in June due to delays, at least we know the covers are on their way, so head below to check them out (and when you can get them)! Star Wars Comics July 2022 Solicitations

Star-Wars-Comics-July-2022-Solicitations

July is set to be a refreshing month for Star Wars comics, as many of the current series’ reach their 25th issue mark, closing out storylines and beginning new ones…well, if they actually come out in July. Unfortunately, the global issues with shipping, printing, and paper are still affecting comics and many of April, May, and June’s have slipped into different months, with several from June and even May releasing in July now. So these issue below likely won’t be out in July due to the landslide effects (maybe August?), but they are exciting looks at where things will go once the Star Wars comics get there. Check out “July’s” Star Wars comic solicitations below, where we see Sana Starros leading a crew to rescue Aphra (?!?), the chaos Qi’ra unleashes on the galaxy, a deadly mission during the Clone Wars for Obi-Wan, and more! Canon Comic Review: Doctor Aphra #19 (Vol. 2)

Doctor-Aphra-19-2020-Mynock-Review

– Spoiler Review –

Having two issues in one month is something I’ll never not be happy about, but the resulting two month wait for the next Doctor Aphra (Vol. 2) issue certainly was hard to stomach, especially since its cover and the previous issue teased a return to the past to explore these characters’ history a bit more. Doctor Aphra #19 (Vol. 2) more than lives up to the hype, featuring some well portrayed representation, exciting blend of past and present, and a cliffhanger I’m so damn happy will only take a month to resolve. Star Wars Comics June 2022 Solicitations

Star-Wars-Comics-June-2022-Solicitations

Compared to last June‘s Star Wars comics solicitations, 2022 might not have anything as big as the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, in fact we have a break from Qi’ra’s comic trilogy, but it is packed with issues that should interest fans of all eras. June kicks off The Mandalorian‘s adaptation comic, Qui-Gon Jinn guest appearances in the Obi-Wan comic (and maybe Obi-Wan show!), Chelli Aphra has to battle her memories to escape her latest problems, while Charles Soule digs up tales across his Star Wars comics career for a truly spectacular and epic 25th issue for his current Star Wars run. June will once again have Pride Month variants, though they haven’t been revealed yet and I have some hopes Lucasfilm/Marvel will do a little better this time around (especially in light of everything going on with the company). Head below for all the details on Star Wars comics’ June 2022 solicitations! UPDATED 4/13: There’s been a lot of delays at the moment, so you’ll find a few June comics are actually ones from either April or May…I’ve updated the dates for the original June releases below. Aphra and the Month-Long Ego Boost! Giveaway Details, 31 Days of Aphra Twitter Prompts!

Doctor-Aphra-Ego-Boost-Hype-Mynock-Manor

It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra, but I know there are so many more fans of her walking chaos out there, so I decided to celebrate the latest anniversary of her first appearance with a Month-Long Ego Boost aka a month-long series of prompts on Twitter (using the hashtag #31DaysAphra) to let everyone show their love for the rogue archaeologist! Since she’s often scrounging up valuable loot, I felt it was necessary to include some giveaways in the process, so US fans will have two prizes and International fans will have one, as I’m not completely made out of money or sold enough ancient weapons for profit yet! To get all the details on the giveaways, like how to enter and what the prizes are, while also seeing the full set of prompts so you can prepare yourself when it begins March 1, 2022, head below now! Star Wars Comics May 2022 Solicitations

Star-Wars-Comics-May-2022-Solicitations

Look, everyone fights about whether May the Fourth or May 25 is the actual Star Wars Day, but why argue over semantics when we could have a whole month?! Star Wars month?! That’s what May should be, as far as I’m concerned, especially with this excellent list of comics full of potential and surprises, while the premiere of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show happens as well! For May’s 2022 Star Wars comics solicitations, there’s the beginning of the new Obi-Wan comic, tons of characters returning to the lives of Han Solo and Darth Vader, Chelli Aphra is in big trouble and I’m stressing out about it (what’s new!), and so much more! While there’s only a preview for one of the covers (Peach Momoko’s Obi-Wan variant), May also hosts a Japanese Variant Cover spread, which brings well-known Japanese artists to Star Wars for a series of variant covers, so there’s that to look forward to as well! Head below for all the details! UPDATE 4/13: There’s a lot of delays happening at the moment, so many of May’s issues have slipped into June and beyond, with April‘s delays falling into May. Hopefully this doesn’t get any worse. Continue reading “Star Wars Comics May 2022 Solicitations”

Canon Comic Review: Doctor Aphra #18 (Vol. 2)

Doctor Aphra #18 (Vol. 2) Review Mynock Manor

– Spoiler Review –

Two issues of Doctor Aphra (Vol. 2) in one month?! We are truly blessed. Doctor Aphra #18 carries on the madcap energy from the previous issue, as Aphra and Sana Starros close in on the Ascendant tech and their new rival, while the series returns to the trials and tribulations of Lucky and Ariole’s own decisions.
