Right after the opening ceremonies let out and I was still processing the new The Force Awakens teaser, I stumbled my way over to the TFA Exhibit without realizing it. I love it when a plan works out! I’ve got a few short impressions from the content, with an extensive picture gallery below. Continue reading “The Force Awakens Exhibit Impressions (SWCA 2015)”

The Force Awakens Teaser #2 and Opening Ceremonies Impressions (SWCA 2015)
Things were kicked off in pretty splendid fashion with the opening ceremonies where J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy spoke about working on the much anticipated movie, our three new heroes took the stage, the droid builders got their due, and (most of) the classic cast came out to thunderous applause. Oh…and there was some teaser or whatever. Heard it wasn’t anything good…kidding, IT WAS MASSIVELY AMAZING. Look for my non-caps recaps of the event and the trailer below. Star Wars Celebration Anaheim Schedule is Live
Most of the schedule for Celebration Anaheim 2015 is finally live and visitors can start planning out their days accordingly. There are several unannounced panels yet, specifically no mention of Battlefront‘s appearance yet, but expect those unknown events to be announced in the coming weeks and we can only hope they’ll be ones focused on The Force Awakens, Rogue One, Battlefront, or something completely surprising. 20 Books Along the ‘Journey to The Force Awakens’ (UPDATED)
EW.com had the exclusive reveal this morning about the upcoming plans for the lead-up to The Force Awakens, which will consist of at least 20 books, including YA novels, adult novels, stickerbooks, comics, and more. While they won’t be filling in every gap in the post-Return of the Jedi era (thankfully), they’ll be your chance to start getting hints on where this new era of storytelling just might go. Preserving the Mystery of In-Universe History
There’s been a lot said about the consumption of spoilers, specifically around The Force Awakens, and how the knowledge you gain from them may or may not affect you and your viewing experience. But as this article’s title suggests, it’s not going to be about spoiling TFA, instead it’ll be discussing the advantages of keeping the in-universe history which leads up to TFA a mystery. Because if the 30-35 years post-Return of the Jedi stays a mystery until the opening crawl and even after the credits roll for TFA, the film has a chance to emulate a feeling similar to when viewers were first introduced to the galaxy far, far away (be it 1977 or their first viewing of the films). Who doesn’t want that? Continue reading “Preserving the Mystery of In-Universe History”
Trading Cards Announce The Force Awakens Character Names
Hot on the heels of the first trailer, both J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy have teamed up with EW.com to reveal (most) of the names for the characters seen in the trailer with retro trading cards! If that wasn’t original enough for you, it seems how they are numbered is extremely important. Below lies a look at who Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Issacs play, plus some speculation thanks to some fans matching up the trading cards. The Force Awakens Trailer Impressions
The time between the EU reboot and our first hints at what we’ll be seeing in theaters in a year is over: The Force Awakens trailer is here! If you haven’t watched it yet, go do so now above (who am I kidding, you’ve totally seen it already) before heading below the cut, as I’ll be discussing my reaction to the footage as well as collecting other sites’ reactions below. Star Wars VII Receives Official Title: The Force Awakens
It’s official, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the title of the upcoming film and yes, Episode VII is not part of its title. As Justin Bolger says so astutely, this could likely mean there’s a lot more Star Wars coming (beyond what’s already been announced) à la Marvel or it was just simply an artistic choice or a way to make it feel easier for new fans to jump into. The official site also confirms certain returning characters, in case you weren’t sure from the casting announcement a few months ago. And with the title behind us now, a (rumored) trailer can’t be that far behind, can it? Or, as satisfying and exciting as this reveal was, are we (me) Star Wars fans just never satiated? Probably. Maybe. Most likely. Either way, prepared to be awoken (sorry) December 18, 2015.

Wednesday Overload: J.J. Trolls, Standalone Director, Rebels Clips, Insider Canon
Mynock Manor went live just in time it seems! After Monday’s splendid casting announcement, I thought we might be getting a bit of a break. Today proved that wrong when we not only had J.J. respond to all the TMZ set photos leaks of Ep. VII, but also another standalone Star Wars film received a director, two new Rebels clips hit the internet, and SW Insider revealed their (already out) contributions to new canon. Phew, say that five times fast while juggling Jawas atop a krayt dragon.
