The Princess and the Scoundrel’s Beautiful Cover Revealed

star wars princess and scoundrel cover revealed

Beth Revis’ The Princess and the Scoundrel, which will reveal Princess Leia and Han Solo’s wedding (and their crazy honeymoon on the Halcyon), now has a gorgeous painted cover by Oliver Cuthbertson! It’s got some The Courtship of Princess Leia vibes going for it, but far more modern, sleeker, and more gorgeous overall. Head below for the full cover and make sure to return to the Manor on August 16 for our review (it might be earlier, depending on the embargo) and any coverage we can get from the panel at Celebration Anaheim 2022. Shadow of the Sith Excerpt Unmasks A Sith

Shadow of the Sith BN Poster Kiza Acolytes of the Beyond

Shadow of the Sith, the upcoming novel by Adam Christopher which explores Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian’s journey to locate the Sith prior to the sequel trilogy and Ochi’s hunt for two parents looking to hide their daughter from her Sheev-y grandfather, already turned heads with its sweat inducing, thrilling, and downright shocking first excerpt. While this second excerpt isn’t as explosive, it’s just as intriguing in its own way, painting a bigger picture of how Christopher’s prose will keep readers on the edge of their seats and really inhabit the spooky nature of Palpatine’s return/the Sith Eternals’ actions in this time frame, but it also potentially reveals who is under the mask of the third character on the book’s cover. From the unsettling description of her mask and her dreams to the revelations she’s Pantoran, the Sith character who will in turn hunt Luke and Lando, as teased by io9, is someone we’ve meet before in the books, but I’ll have that answer below the cut (in case people want to avoid spoilers), as well as the big poster of the character exclusive to the Barnes and Noble edition of Shadow of Sith (out June 28). UPDATE: Our reviews are in! Continue reading “Shadow of the Sith Excerpt Unmasks A Sith”

The High Republic Show: Phase II Path of Deceit Cover, New Authors Chat, and More!

It’s been just over two months since the last The High Republic Show and a little over a month since Phase I wrapped up its story, so it’s been quiet in the era of The High Republic for fans (unless those rumors of a live-action TV show are true…), but even this newest batch of details and interviews is enough to breathe life back into the discussion ahead of Star Wars Celebration and likely a lot of news there. In the latest show, host Krystina Arielle sums up the finale to Phase I, talks with the new authors joining the project, interviews with some creatives about the finale, and some scant and surprising details about Phase II! Shadow of the Sith Cover, Excerpt Unleashed

Shadow-of-the-Sith-Reveal

Regardless of how you feel about Luke Skywalker’s appearances in recent TV shows, the excitement and anticipation for the upcoming novel Shadow of the Sith, which will explore his mission with Lando Calrissian to find Exegol prior to The Force Awakens, is through the stratosphere, especially for me. After the reveal of its cover and the first excerpt, doubly so! I won’t spoil anything if you want to go into the novel blind, but if you’ve been on the fence about this novel, I implore you to read the excerpt. I basically shut down at work as I read it, tuning everything out even a co-worker asked me if I was okay afterwards, so engrossed at what was unfolding for Luke Skywalker I found myself letting out a breath I didn’t know I was holding…and then tears came in the final few moments…*phew!* I’m getting overwhelmed just thinking about it again. It’s that good, you fine folks of the galaxy, and we’re in fantastic, thrilling hands with writer Adam Christopher. I can only imagine what other surprises and bombshells Shadow of the Sith will hold, as we know it’ll cover Rey’s parents story to some extent too, though thankfully we won’t have to wait too much longer, as it’s out June 28. Head below to check out the full cover and blurb, but do not miss out on this excerpt! UPDATE: Our reviews are in! Continue reading “Shadow of the Sith Cover, Excerpt Unleashed”

RSVP for Han and Leia’s Wedding In The Princess and The Scoundrel Novel, Out August 16

Princess-And-Scoundrel-Announcement

Whether you have Valentine’s Day plans or not, Star Wars is celebrating the day by announcing a new novel, written by Beth Revis, which brings to page the wedding of Han Solo and Princess Leia: The Princess and The Scoundrel, out August 16! It’s rather exciting this moment will play out on the page, where a great author like Beth Revis can dig into all the nuances of what will be banter-filled wedding for the ages (she tested out the lines with her husband!). I really enjoyed the slice of life she brought to Rogue One’s Jyn Erso in Rebel Rising so I imagine she’ll bring the same magic of focus and excitement here, though having their honeymoon set on the Halcyon, the hotel resort experience at Disney Parks, is disappointing because it feels really forced for such a big, momentous moment but I trust Revis to make it feel natural. Head below for the full invitation and check back here when we have more details, like a cover, and then later our review! The High Republic Show: Phase II Novels, Comics, Art Book Announced, And More!

With the first Phase of The High Republic nearly at an end, the final comic issues dropping March, the latest The High Republic Show was focused more on how we got here, Krystina Arielle’s cool new digs and fan-made costume, and discussing much of what’s transpired since The Fallen Star‘s release in January, plus a suggestion on which piece to read to finish Phase I, Wave III. There were some reveals for Phase II: Quest of the Jedi, like who’s writing what, from Zoraida Córdova kicking off the new story with the adult novel and Claudia Gray behind a comic book, as well as a much requested and really exciting Art of The High Republic book, but it was focused mainly on the journey so far and teases of the future (5 or so years total in story) and I think it was well-deserved considering how fandom has accepted the initiative since its launch, though it also mentioned something fandom has been rallying against for sometime. Head on for the lowdown! Continue reading “The High Republic Show: Phase II Novels, Comics, Art Book Announced, And More!”
