High Republic News: High Republic Show Anniversary Special, Midnight Horizon Excerpt
A quick little news drop for The High Republic fans this week! First, The High Republic Show’s January 4, 2022 livesteam, airing 12:00pm CST, is titled The High Republic Anniversary Special, hosted as always by Krystina Arielle, with appearances from Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older, Cavan Scott, and Charles Soule, “…as well as special guests, new reveals, and the first intel on Phase II.” I’m anxious about what will happen at the end of Phase I but I’m chomping at the hydrospanner for Phase II details! Elswhere, Midnight Horizon, Older’s YA novel out February 1, 2022, had its first excerpt, finding Ram Jamoram at an emotional void I hope he can get through! And lastly, we have to remind fans about the on-going turmoil over Star Wars Eclipse, with stellar articles from both Dork Side of the Force and io9 regarding the movement against it, which got the hashtag “BlackoutStarWarsEclipse” trending on Twitter Friday. Make sure to return to the Manor in January for the details on upcoming High Republic content and the reviews for Phase 1’s finale!

Marvel Announces Han Solo & Chewbacca On-going Comic for March 2022, Stories of Jedi & Sith Cover
We’ve had a Chewbacca miniseries in 2015 and a Han Solo one in 2016, so to quote the famous meme/gif: why not both?! Marvel announced today a new on-going comic starring the close-knit pair, Han Solo & Chewbacca, set to release in March 2022, which will be written by Marc Guggenheim, with art by David Messina. Set a few years prior to A New Hope, the comic will follow the smugglers’ chaotic lifestyle leading up to their fateful meeting with a young moister farmer, exploring jobs they took with Jabba the Hutt and more. Read below for more details from the interview with Guggenheim, which helped turned me from a shrug to cautiously optimistic about this.
