High Republic Show: Year End Entry Reveals Character Encyclopedia, New Covers, and More!

2022 has been a pretty eventful year for The High Republic, even if it only released across 6 of the 12 months. 2022 started with the finale to Phase I that saw Starlight Beacon fallen and story left on a cliffhanger and the year ended with the beginning of Phase II, the 150 years extra blast to the past for extra context to the era’s story. The High Republic Show and the affable Krystina Arielle have been there for us through the big moments and the quiet in-betweens, feeding us many feasts of content and now they have one last holiday gift for us with this year end show! There’s a peak behind Dark Horse’s content, author discussions, and the requisite reveals, Character Encyclopedia anyone!?, but I’ve also included some other recent news, like another author roundtable and previews galore. Head below for the High Republic year end extravaganza before we return early 2023 with our The Battle of Jedha review! While Phase II: Quest of the Jedi might be shorter than the opening Phase, it still has its big tentpole moments and the upcoming audiobook The Battle of Jedha, written by George Mann and performed by a full cast, is the Phase’s linchpin moment. Find out the cast and listen to the first excerpt below! Continue reading “First Excerpt, Plus Cast Reveal, from The High Republic – The Battle of Jedha Audiobook!”

Jedi: Survivor Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Thanks to this year’s The Game Awards, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor received its first gameplay trailer, giving us our first look at how the sequel will build off the previous entry’s sold underpinnings while taking advantage of current-gen technology. I’m already bracing for the lack of stealth options and inability to not kill poor, innocent creatures, but everything else I’m seeing in this trailer looks like a beautiful expansion on Fallen Order’s strengths, which Survivor is set 5 years after (at around the same time as Obi-Wan Kenobi). Out March 17, only a week after its prequel novel on April 28 now, a month after Battle Scars, Jedi: Survivor will hit PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Head below for screenshots from the trailer (Cere Junda’s look new look, Cal’s new pal Brode) and pre-order bonuses (leaked and not leaked)! Final The Bad Batch Season Two Trailer Arrives

With less than a month until its premiere, season two of The Bad Batch got its final trailer. While it contains quite a few things we’ve seen in Celebration Anaheim trailer (more Gungi is never a bad thing!!), it offers some new scenes with Commander Cody, Crosshair, Bail Organa, new characters, and hints at many of the adventures the team will go on in its second season, though it makes it clear not even a slight delay lead to them even considering fixing the whitewashing concerns fans have been so vocal about. The 16-episode season premieres with two episodes on January 4, 2023, and will close out on a two-part finale on March 29. Find the full episode title list, new poster, and some images below the cut! jedi battle scars cover revealed news

While we are primarily a Star Wars blog, Lucasfilm does more than Star Wars (I’m going to start watching the Willow show soon), the mynocks would never let me not mention Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny had its first trailer today (which you can watch below the cut). Back to Star Wars, the upcoming novel Jedi: Battle Scars by Sam Maggs had its full cover revealed and a blurb with intriguing new details, along with a confirmed release date of March 7. The fun doesn’t end there, as on March 1, and overlapping with The Bad Batch’s second season, The Mandalorian’s third season premieres. Head below for the new Battle Scars details and its full cover! NYCC lucasfilm publishing inquisitor sana starros

It’s not all The High Republic news when it comes to convention panels and the Lucasfilm publishing one never disappoints to cover a wide range of mediums and a great list of guests. For NYCC 2022, alongside some new covers and peaks inside upcoming releases, a few intriguing announcements were made: the novel Inquisitor – Rise of the Red Blade, the comic miniseries Sana Starros, and an original Star Wars Visions manga! Getting more insight to the Inquisitors sounds like great time, more Visions will always be a joy, but the bigger announcement for me was bringing Sana into the spotlight with her very own comic miniseries, written by Justina Ireland! More details below the cut! Continue reading “NYCC ’22: Lucasfilm Publishing Panel Reveals Inquisitor Book, Sana Starros Comic, More!”

NYCC High Republic Phase 2 News Covers

With The High Republic’s Phase II beginning just this week with the release of Path of Deceit, the opening YA novel by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland (and our reviews you can read here!), the New York Comic Con panel easily could’ve been simply covers for some of the remaining Phase II content and fans (me!) would’ve been happy. But thankfully they love to bring more than that, as while plenty of covers were revealed for upcoming Phase II releases, we learned about some new content as well, like an intriguing YA Anthology which will span all THREE Phases of the era. Learn all about the newest reveals for The High Republic below! Continue reading “NYCC ’22: New The High Republic Phase 2 Covers, Titles Announced!”
