With The High Republic’s Phase II beginning just this week with the release of Path of Deceit, the opening YA novel by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland (and our reviews you can read here!), the New York Comic Con panel easily could’ve been simply covers for some of the remaining Phase II content and fans (me!) would’ve been happy. But thankfully they love to bring more than that, as while plenty of covers were revealed for upcoming Phase II releases, we learned about some new content as well, like an intriguing YA Anthology which will span all THREE Phases of the era. Learn all about the newest reveals for The High Republic below! Continue reading “NYCC ’22: New The High Republic Phase 2 Covers, Titles Announced!”

Novel News: Jedi: Survivor Tie-in Novel, Jedi: Battle Scars Announced
The world around the Star Wars Jedi video game series by Respawn Entertainment is expanding ahead of the second game, Jedi: Survivor! Just announced are both an art book (out May 2, 2023) for the sequel, but also an original novel written by Sam Maggs, Jedi: Battle Scars! Taking place between the first and second game, Battle Scars will feature an original story of Cal Kestis and the Mantis crew on an adventure. It’ll release March 7, 2023, and while there hasn’t been a release date for Jedi: Survivor yet, I’d bet it’ll be out around the same time as the novel. There’s no cover (minus a temp one) and no more extra details currently, but check back at the Manor for more coverage, including an eventual review of the game too!

Especially here in Wisconsin, November is when fall comes on strong and we begin to hunker down inside, watching football or spending more time with family and friends (even more so if someone else is cooking!), so having a lot of Star Wars comics would be perfect to help pass the time between the next gathering. Luckily, as we can see in November 2022’s solicitations for Star Wars comics, there’s a lot to enjoy, from more The High Republic Phase II stories, new comics like Hidden Empire or Revelations, a metric ton of worry about Doctor Aphra, Yoda-centric adventures, and more! Check out the Star Wars comics November 2022 solicitations below! Continue reading “Star Wars Comics November 2022 Solicitations”

New Andor Trailer Wows, Premiering Sept 21 Now With 3 Episodes
My initial reaction is laden with expletives, because holy mynocks is that a brilliant full trailer for Andor! I love what they’ve managed to do with the Volume to shoot most of the other shows (and can’t wait to see how they continue to use it), but Andor filmed for a long time on a lot of sets and it’s clear from this trailer how visually stunning that’s helped make this show. It looks like another Star Wars movie, but this time on the small screen via Disney+! While it’s disappointing the show’s been delayed until September 21 for its premiere, bringing with it three-episodes instead, I think this trailer shows why it’s going to be way worth that wait. Since I last covered Andor at the Lucasfilm Showcase Panel, while we knew the two season show would take place 5 years prior to Rogue One and lead right into it, it’s since been revealed season 1 will take place over a year, while every three episodes of season two will cover a year, taking us up to the film; it’s a gutsy idea and I can’t wait to see how it’s handled, especially since season one looks so incredible already. Head below for character names and a slick new poster! UPDATE: Here’s our review of the series’ three episode premiere; follow along here for more reviews as the series airs!
