Get Hyped for The Siege of Mandalore in The Clone Wars’ Finale TV Spot
The Clone Wars has been around since 2008 and been killed off and revived almost as many times as Emperor Palpatine at this point, but the next four episode of the show now airing on Disney+ are its actual, grand finale. The final episodes will deal with the fabled Siege of Mandalore, an event teased and hinted at for years since the show’s initial cancellation, which will see Ahsoka helping the Mandalorians rid themselves of the ever pesky Maul. The arc will find Ahsoka interacting with Anakin and other Jedi for the first time since she left the Order, and will overlap with Revenge of the Sith, meaning the Siege will go even more sideways when Order 66 gets thrown in the mix. The trailer above gives me goosebumps, as while the animation has seen an upgrade in these final episode, it looks like they saved every ounce of the budget for the final four episodes, while the character moments promise to hit all the right emotional beats. The first episode, “Old Friends Not Forgotten” airs April 17, and expect a review for it on Mynock Manor sometime that evening. In the meantime, head below for the rest of our reviews for the final season of The Clone Wars, if you can tear your eyes away from the trailer of course! Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Still on Schedule, Despite Recent Rumblings
After a baseless rumor of its cancellation, swiftly refuted by reputable sources, several reports came out late Thursday saying the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series was on hold. Out of all the projects in the works that we know about, this is definitely the most high profile of the bunch, as who doesn’t want to see Ewan McGregor donning his epic beard and Jedi robes again? Before the response to the news could get too out of control, the Jedi Master himself spoke out about the rumors, telling Variety that they’re just improving the scripts and the show will premiere as originally planned, despite, “…shooting early next year as opposed to summer this year.” Continue reading “Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Still on Schedule, Despite Recent Rumblings”
End, The Clone Wars Do, February 21 on Disney+
We’ve known for some time now that The Clone Wars would air its final (again) season on Disney+ this February, but it wasn’t until today we finally learned it’ll drop February 21! The official announcement reveals it’ll cover 3 story arcs, and at 12 episodes total, we’re likely getting 4 episodes an arc, though no word if it’s all dropping Feb 21 or if it’ll be released weekly. After watching the final trailer above, it won’t really matter because my mind, body, and soul will not be ready either way! Head below for some more details on what we might see in The Clone Wars’ final run. Continue reading “End, The Clone Wars Do, February 21 on Disney+”
The Mandalorian’s Exciting Second Trailer Drops
As November 12 fast approaches, with it comes the launch of Disney+ and the first live-action Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian! The second trailer for the show dropped tonight, and while it contains a fair bit of footage from the first, there’s enough new to whet our appetites for the show. Much of what’s to come in the show’s first season remains nebulous and the mystery is only building anticipation for me, while the shot of the Mandalorian hanging onto the TIE fighter is single-handedly giving me life in regards to this show. Is the young kid and his family our main character in flashbacks, as Werner Herzog’s character does talk about something bad happening to the Mandalorian’s people? You can spot Super Battle Droids in one of the scenes, so it’s highly likely a flashback (though we’ve seen the droids used post-Clone Wars before). Is the woman holding the Mando’s helmet a lover or even a family member? While we got our first lines from the masked man, why can’t anyone but Herzog speak in these trailers? With its weekly release schedule (two in the first week!), we won’t have to wait for a mid-season break or anything to find out most of the answers to these mysteries! Head below the cut for the new character posters, the release schedule, and our previous Mandalorian coverage! Continue reading “The Mandalorian’s Exciting Second Trailer Drops”
D23 2019: The Mandalorian Trailer Arrives, Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Announced, and The Clone Wars Set for February 2020
At the D23 Disney+ panel, not only did the above intense first trailer for The Mandalorian arrive, but Ewan McGregor came out to confirm he’s back for an Obi-Wan Kenobi series (!!), and The Clone Wars‘ return was announced for February 2020. They also talked about the Cassian Andor series, though not a lot of details were given for any of the upcoming shows, but head below for what little we did get. Star Wars Resistance’s Second and Final Season Airs October, First Trailer Arrives
After Star Wars Resistance’s first season finale, I had some rather high hopes for the show, as its ending brought with it a whole wealth of possibilities as the Colossus and Team Fireball went mobile following Hosnian Cataclysm. From the trailer above, it looks like the show will be fulfilling my biggest wishes for its second season when it returns October 6, which makes the news this will also be its final season all the more bittersweet. At least they gave us another stunning trailer to help lessen the blow of the news, right? A few thoughts on the trailer, the show ending, and details on the new cast below! The Clone Wars Returns Panel (SWCC 2019)
One of the best things about the upcoming Disney+ revival of The Clone Wars is finally seeing unproduced content Dave Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo have been teasing over the past few years come to life on the screen: Anakin granting Ahsoka her own battalion; Ahsoka adjusting to life without the Jedi Order and down in the Coruscant underworld; more of Clone Force 99; and of course the Siege of Mandalore. While it’ll only be 12 episodes, the trailer above sure makes it look like it’ll be 12 episodes of pure TCW adrenaline. You can find the trailer at the 52:18 mark in the video above, while below I go over what we learned about some of this content at prior conventions. Light Details on The Mandalorian at Celebration, Premieres November 12 on Disney+ (SWCC 2019)
If you weren’t at the panel, The Mandalorian didn’t offer much for everyone else to get excited for because the first footage, a trailer, BTS reel, and a scene, were for panel-goers only. It seems like a silly idea because of course one can find some grainy versions of it online, so first impressions for the masses not there could be less than flattering, though several write-ups seem to suggest the footage was more than impressive. We did learn Carl Weathers’ character is named Greef Carga, the head of a bounty hunting guild, while Gina Carano plays Cara Dune, an ex-Rebel trooper, but Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian is still called only the Mandalorian… like Clint Eastwood’s Man with No Name, but I bet we’ll get a name befor the season is over. The Mandalorian is set to premiere with Disney+ on November 12! Check out some new stills below, the panel, and pray to the Force we commoners get that footage sometime soon.
