Maul: Shadow Lord Animated Series Announced, Out 2026! (SWCJ 2025)

From The Clone Wars to Star Wars Rebels and The Bad Batch, it’s hard to believe we’ve only had 20 years of Lucasfilm Animation goodness, as the impact these shows have had on all aspects of the franchise grows every year. At Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, a panel celebrated this milestone with a lovely tribute video, a very packed poster, a discussion with Dave Filoni, Athena Portillo, and David Collins, a screening of the first Asajj Ventress of the upcoming Tales of the Underworld series, and the big reveal: Maul: Shadow Lord is a brand-new series launching in 2026! We also got confirmation of the return of Young Jedi Adventures, with a new trailer! Head below for more! Continue reading “Maul: Shadow Lord Animated Series Announced, Out 2026! (SWCJ 2025)”

Star Wars: Starfighter, Starring Ryan Gosling, Out 2027, New The Mandalorian and Grogu Details (SWCJ 2025)

While it was billed as The Mandalorian and Grogu panel, Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025’s first panel decided to start with a surprise: Shawn Levy’s rumored film was not only confirmed, but it’s star Ryan Gosling was brought on stage, the title Starfighter was revealed, and it’s next to go into production with a release date of May 28, 2027! It wasn’t all about Ken, as new behind-the-scenes photos were shared from Grogu’s Day Out, additional details, and footage was shown to attendees (you can find it if you know where to look), hyping up 2026’s film. Head below for all the particulars gleaned from the panel! Continue reading “Star Wars: Starfighter, Starring Ryan Gosling, Out 2027, New The Mandalorian and Grogu Details (SWCJ 2025)”

Marvel Star Wars Comics Panel: Dark Droids Announced, Shaak Ti “Lives,” and More! (SWCE 2023)

Having just wrapped up Qi’ra’s big return trilogy in comics, the Marvel Star Wars comics panel at Celebration Europe set its sights on the future, diving into issues coming out in the next few months and revealed the next big crossover: Dark Droids! Even before things get crazy with the crossover, there looks to be a lot to enjoy, while the Aphra series gets even weirder and intriguing with the return of Shaak Ti (?!?!) and something called Starweird, while Older writing about Max Rebo sounds fitting and I can’t wait. As for Dark Droids, let’s just say what they showed and talked about put me at ease about another crossover event. Head below for covers, previews, and more! The Bad Batch Panel: Final Season Out 2024, Fennec Shand Returns (SWCE 2023)

The Bad Batch panel was actually streaming on Celebration Live, so you can check out the whole thing, minus the exclusive trailer, after about like the first 5 minutes of the stream above. A lot of the panel was focused on Tech’s death, the themes of the season, the Zillo beast clone, and how beautiful the sushi looked. During it they announced a season three, though as I was guessing in my reviews, it’s also the show’s final season, coming out in 2024. The official site shared some details on the trailer only shown to fans, with Fennec Shan’s return shown, more big monsters, Palpatine on Tantiss, and even Commander Wolffe, among other things. Hopefully we’ll get to see some footage soon ourselves, but with it out in 2024, it might be awhile.
