Thankfully we didn’t have to wait long for the next episode of The Bad Batch, especially since Ep. 2 “Cut and Run” is the perfect companion to the extra-sized premiere, bringing in a familiar face (aren’t they all?) from The Clone Wars to tell an important aspect to their tale, further develop the main crew, and show the Empire’s little ways of changing the galaxy. Lucasfilm Animation returns with a brand new series on Star Wars Day 2021, The Bad Batch, a pseudo-sequel to The Clone Wars which follows a group of unique clones as they navigate the transition of Republic to Empire in the waning days of the war. “Aftermath” is a 70-min special premiere which helps flesh out the titular Bad Batch, continuing its predecessors’ examination of the clones, while it offers a fresh new mystery and character that’ll keep me coming back for more over the show’s first 16 episode season. When Clone Force 99 is around, explosive, action-packed shenanigans are guaranteed and The Bad Batch’s latest trailer delivers in spades, though offers some intriguing hints of what else this show will be about with returning, familiar faces and a mystery-filled new one; all I really needed to know is if Wrecker would rein destructive mayhem on his enemies. Head below the poster and for more thoughts on the trailer, including who this “Omega” is! UPDATE 5/4/21: The series premiere and our review of it are in! And now so is our review of it’s second episode! Continue reading “The Bad Batch Trailer Explodes Our Hype for May 4th Premiere” →
Star Wars Animation is back on the menu, folks! Disney+ will host the premiere of The Bad Batch on Star Wars Day aka May the Fourth, with a second episode following on May 7 and releasing on subsequent Fridays. There’s no new trailer, images, or details released with this announcement (though the Republic Commando remaster a month before is a nice added bonus), but the trailer from December turned my less than favorable thoughts around about the show, especially upon seeing The Mandalorian’s Fennec Shand appearing! Check out the trailer and the reveal of The Black Series toy for Wrecker (the Batch’s muscle) below, but remember to return to the Manor in May for our reviews! I am absolutely thrilled at all this content coming, though a little anxious about it being too much, but let’s not worry about that and unpack all the new series and movie announced today at the Disney Investors Call.
