While May might be the busiest comics month in all of 2026 so far, it’s also a big month for Star Wars in general, as the animated show Maul: Shadow Lord wraps up and The Mandalorian and Grogu wallops theaters! So in-between those two big screen events, comics have will have something to enjoy, from the beginning of the Rogue One 10th Anniversary one-shots, more Shadow Lord prequel story, a Bad Batch finale (maybe!), High Republic hijinks (hopefully!), and Galaxy’s Edge connections. It just hit me, only one of the five comics out in May isn’t a tie-in to a show/film/theme park…always thankful for the High Republic! Head below for May 2026’s Star Wars comics solicitations now!
MARVEL

Benjamin Percy (Writer), Luke Ross (Artist)

CASSIAN ANDOR’S FINAL MISSION BEFORE HE MEETS HIS ULTIMATE HEROIC DESTINY!
Before the heist that shook the galaxy, a lone REBEL operative walks into danger. CASSIAN ANDOR infiltrates the lawless maze of KAFRENE, racing against troopers, bounty hunters and time itself in a tense espionage thriller. Set prior to; Rogue One – the critically praised blockbuster hailed as one of the best STAR WARS films – return to the grit and glory of a REBELLION on the brink.
As I said in my article regarding the reveal of this series of Rogue One 10th Anniversary one-shots…best of luck to Percy and Ross for squeezing in a story between the ending of Andor and the opening of Rogue One! Like, what could even happen?! Sounds like a lot, given it’s being called a espionage thriller. Either way, these one-shots are an intriguing way to celebrate the film’s anniversary and hopefully The Last Jedi gets something similar in 2027!
Shadow of Maul #3 (on sale 5/13)
Benjamin Percy (Writer), Madibek Musabekov (Artist)

BETRAYAL ON JANIX!
- LAWSON is hunted by an assassin and an officer from his own department!
- Help comes from an unlikely ally — a crime lord named VARIO, who has his own hidden agenda.
- And MAUL begins his preparation for a job in Janix by kidnapping a member of the police force!
I’m assuming Vario’s the big new alien dude in the background of the main cover. Looks silly, but threatening, in a weird way and I’m invested in meeting him. Otherwise, I’ll be most intrigued to see what else this prequel has in store, given this issue is followed by two more and yet the show it’s a prequel to wraps up May 4. More secrets to be had? Does this have a big spoiler and that’s why they waited? Or is it all simply due to timing and nothing else? We’ll see!
Galaxy’s Edge: Echoes of the Empire #2 (on sale 5/27)
Ethan Sacks (Writer), Jethro Morales and Roi Mercado (Artists)
Cover by Phil Noto | Character Spotlight Variant by Leinil Francis Yu | Mandalorian & Grogu Variant by E.M. Gist | Variant NI over by Paolo Villanelli
HUNTED BY DARTH VADER!
- PRINCESS LEIA, CHEWBACCA, ARTOO-DETOO and SEE-THREEPIO scramble to track down an informant in the BLACK SPIRE OUTPOST!
- Will they escape a trap set by VADER himself?
- What is Oga’s grand plan to play both the Rebellion and the Empire?
After seeing small scenes between Leia and Chewie in recent Han Solo: Hunt for the Falcon, with the two talking about Han’s distance in the years leading up to The Force Awakens, more time with these two together and building their friendship is extremely welcomed. And then we get the classic droid duo on top of it?! And somehow Oga is trying to play both sides? You have me invested. Like most miniseries these days, I won’t have a review until it all wraps up, but if you’re so inclined to review each entry, don’t be shy and reach out!
DARK HORSE
Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch – Rogue Agents #4 (on sale 5/6)
Michael Moreci (Writer), Reese Hannigan (Artists)
Cover by Valeria Favoccia
The Bad Batch find themselves in Aurra Sing’s crosshairs once again! With the help of her rogue agents, the deadly assassin is determined to capture the doomsday device and get her revenge on Clone Force 99. Witness their epic rematch in this thrilling conclusion!
- Aurra Sing is back and looking for revenge! Witness the epic rematch in this thrilling conclusion!
I’m not too much of a betting man, but I am hopeful, so I’m crossing all my fingers (if only I was a Besalisk, am I right?!) this finale holds and releases in May. The first issue had a great hook with the rogue clones and we’ve been waiting since the end of December for the second issue, currently slotted for March. Really need to learn more about these clones!!
The High Republic Adventures – Pathfinders #2 (on sale 5/6)
George Mann (Writer), Partha Pratim/Jagdish Kumar (Artists)
Cover by Jake Bartok
On their way to investigate a mysterious comms disturbance, the Pathfinder team is caught in a hyperspace abnormality! As the abnormality and its monstrous inhabitants threaten to trap the Pathfinders forever, they send a desperate distress call into the galaxy… and the answer comes in the form of a fan-favorite High Republic character! Can the team escape before they are lost to the darkness between the stars?
- Return to the High Republic! Set 20 years after the end of Phase II, when Republic Pathfinders explored the furthest, and most dangerous, reaches of the galaxy!
- Six-issue series.
{Originally Solicited for April} Would it be a High Republic story without some hyperspace abnormalities?! And this one has monsters trapped inside it?! Sign me the hell up!! I mean, anything High Republic is pretty much an instant sign me up these days, simply because I miss the era, but everything about Mann’s story sounds like it’s going to be a memorable way to show how “Phase More” can expand on the era and its characters. Let’s hope it doesn’t get hit with many, or any, delays! {Guess the delays have struck once, hopefully this issue holds for May}
