Look, it’s not my birthday month anymore, so…honestly, ouch, that makes it harder to swallow only THREE comics in November and only ONE of them being a new story, not an adaptation. Hence my problem with upcoming Marvel/Star Wars crossover is more about it happening now, after we have depressingly small and limited months of comic releases. At least I’ll get to visit Galaxy’s Edge in November, which should help ease the pain. Might have to get something at Dok Ondar’s to help. Or just a few extra drinks at Oga’s Cantina. This whole assassin droid and the Tava Ren/Knights of Ren storyline will really take over the miniseries, I guess! I was not expecting it to play such a large role, but considering Soule’s the one to actually give the Knights of Ren anything interesting to do…let him cook. I hope Tava survives the whole situation as, well, according to the first issue, we might need someone to survive this and be the series’ narrator, right?!

Ah yes, the episode where The Book of Boba Fett became second fiddle to its own show for…The Mandalorian season 2.5?! It will always not be crazy to me that we had a whole show about Boba Fett, his name literally in the title, and he had to take a back seat to Din Djarin’s storyline, which as always to this point, barely ever has any character development. What a shame. Anyways.

At least this sort of returned to the world of The Book of Boba Fett, but the fact it had deepfaked-face Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and Grogu?! It was still very much not the right time and place. But…I do look forward to seeing this in Sliney’s art because at least Luke won’t be a deepfake despite having the perfect dopplegänger actor playing him.
DARK HORSE
As long as the current schedule holds, it appears Dark Horse is no longer going to be producing Star Wars comics again after October 2026, only releasing some trade paperbacks of their current or recent miniseries’ before their time ends. A shame when these things go quietly into the night, rather than someone just saying they’ve lost the license and it’s now just Mad Cave to pick up the all-ages torch.
MAD CAVE STUDIOS
And as it stands, the next release from Mad Cave after October is not until March 2027, though they did announce a few other stories at SDCC this year. So…hopefully they’ll stick to the release of that one series and get the other ones, like X-Wing Academy, out sooner than later! And, we’ll know more about their plans with NYCC in October!
