Star Wars Comics September 2025 Solicitations

It’s weird to think, last September saw the end of the previous era of comic stories come to an end, and now in 2025, we’re not only seeing several new series begin, we’re already enjoying stories from the new era. What a difference one year can make! For September 2025’s Star Wars comics solicitations, both Boba Fett and Han Solo are going hunting but for far different targets, Doctor Aphra finds herself caught between a Wookiee fight, a Star Wars boogeyman is born in the Nightlands of Ryloth, battle droids are still clomping around post-Return of the Jedi, and so much more! Head below for the full solicits!

MARVEL

Han Solo: Hunt for the Falcon #1 (on sale 9/3)

IN THE TIME BEFORE THE FORCE AWAKENS, WHERE IS THE MILLENNIUM FALCON?!

  • Less than satisfied with a settled life, HAN SOLO lands on the idea of reclaiming the Falcon and returning to a life of adventure.
  • The problem is, he can’t find it. After enlisting a less than enthusiastic CHEWBACCA, the duo embarks upon a quest to reclaim the greatest ship in the galaxy.
  • Standing in their way are a laundry list of rogues who have staked a claim to the Millennium Falcon as well, like the villainous scoundrel who stole the Falcon, DUCAIN.

Announced earlier this week, Han Solo is looking for the Millennium Falcon and dragging old friends, acquaintances, and rogues into the search. I’m more interested in seeing how much this will touch on other aspects of Han’s life during this time frame, like stuff with Ben Solo, his and Leia’s relationship, and any hints and looks at the galaxy at large. But also, Ramon Rosanas is behind the artwork, so no matter what happens, it’s going to look good! I might not do any reviews for this until the miniseries is over, which would be in January 2026, but if you have any interest in covering the series or have anything else Star Wars opinion-wise you’d maybe like to have a home for, the Manor is always open for new writers, check our Submission page for more info!

Legacy of Vader #8 (on sale 9/3)

Charles Soule (Writer), Stefano Raffaele (Artist)
Cover by Derrick Chew | Variant Cover by Kael Ngu | Variant Cover by Stephanie Hans | Revenge of the Sith 20th Anniversary Variant Cover by Chris Sprouse

THE KNIGHTS OF REN RETURN WITH A NEW LEADER — TAVA REN!

  • In order to control the Knights of Ren, TAVA must KILL KYLO REN!
  • Learn the dark secrets of this mysterious group of villains!
  • What subterfuge will this new warrior use to get what she wants?

Charles Soule has done some damn good work on making the Knights of Ren something interesting, as they were really only window-dressing in the sequel trilogy. Can’t wait to meet this Tava, learn more about the group, and see Kylo and Tava battle! I bet she’ll be a good match for him and should push him to his limits, though I’m hoping she won’t end this series dead, rather alive and maybe in a place to claim the group after The Rise of Skywalker

Jedi Knights #7 (on sale 9/10)

Marc Guggenheim (Writer), Madibek Musabekov (Artist/Cover Artist)
Variant Cover by Rod Reis | Classic Homage Variant Cover by Dan Jurgens | Revenge of the Sith 20th Anniversary Variant Cover by Chris Sprouse | Lightsaber Variant/Virgin Variant Cover by Taurin Clarke

QUI-GON JINN IS DEAD!

  • Or he will be…if JEDI KNIGHTS MACE WINDU and AAYLA SECURA can’t find the antidote to the poison that is killing him.
  • The antidote can only be found on SINSARA…the most dangerous planet you’ve never heard of!
  • But what is the mysterious connection Sinsara has with Qui-Gon Jinn’s past?

I’ve really been enjoying Jedi Knights and it feels perfect to have a bunch of fun little adventures during this era of the galaxy starring new and familiar Jedi alike. The connective story of Qui-Gon Jinn’s would-be assassin threads enough through the series so far I’m interested but not eager to have it resolved yet. However, it looks like issue #7 brings the storyline to the forefront in a big way, as it seems Corlis Rath went for the poison approach and now Mace Windu and Aalya Secura are racing against time to save Qui-Gon.

Boba Fett: Black, White & Red #1 (on sale 9/17)

Benjamin Percy (Writer), Chris Allen (Artist)
Cover by Alex Maleev | Variant Cover by Josemaria Casanovas | Variant Cover by Leinil Francis Yu | Variant/Virgin Variant Cover by Kaare Andrews

“THE IMPOSSIBLE JOB”

  • BOBA FETT finds himself trapped in a situation he seemingly can’t get out of!
  • The EMPIRE and an extreme REBEL faction are after the same bounty!
  • Fett needs to track down a deadly individual who has played both sides, and — to make things even more impossible — his target is hiding out in a volatile volcanic system!

Also announced earlier this week, Boba Fett is the next character to get the Black, White & Red treatment! I like the change from red-lightsaber wielding Sith Lords, as it opens up the stories that can be told and gives the artists involved an even tougher job ahead of them adhering to the series’ constraints. Each of the four issues will be a brand-new story and creative team, so plenty of variety ahead, though this first one sounds damn interesting. Much like Han Solo: Hunt for the Falcon, I won’t be reviewing this until the series is over, so around December this year if it releases monthly, but if you have any interest in covering the series, or have anything else Star Wars opinion-wise you’d maybe like to have a home for, the Manor is always open for new writers, check our Submission page for more info!

Star Wars #5 {2025} (on sale 9/17)

Alex Segura (Writer), Phil Noto (Artist)
Cover by Phil Noto | Variant Cover by Alan Quah | Variant Cover by E.M. Gist | Action Figure Variant Cover by John Tyler Christopher | Revenge of the Sith 20th Anniversary Variant Cover by Chris Sprouse

THE PAST RETURNS!

  • As LUKE, RYNN, HAN and VALANCE race to find a group of stranded traders — they uncover a startling, and deadly, relic from the past — and have to face off against a horde of BATTLE DROIDS!
  • LEIA and MON MOTHMA face an unexpected and powerful attack!
  • Who is the new leader of the Nagai resistance?
  • Cornered on a desolate planet, our heroes are left with one shocking option to survive!

Two issues in, Alex Segura’s Star Wars series has been interesting and exciting and it sounds like it’s only ratcheting up the action! The Nagai and their society have been interesting, so more of their internal politics sounds good to me. And battle droids in the post-Return of the Jedi era?! Sign me up! What I’m most intrigued by is this the promise of discovering a relic from the past, as it gives me hope my theory about Jedi Knights #2 baddie Atha Prime coming back to the story to be a big villain for this series, per his original storyline ideas, will become true! I’m not reviewing this series every issue, but my plan was to revisit it in October for its 6 issue, the original final issue for the series’ trade paperback release, but that’s now supposedly the 10th issue, which is either a format shift for Marvel or a sign this series doesn’t have as big as legs as we thought. I believe it’s just a format change, though I still will check in around October or so for another review. But once again, if you have any interest in covering the series or have anything else Star Wars opinion-wise you’d maybe like to have a home for, the Manor is always open for new writers, check our Submission page for more info!

Doctor Aphra: Chaos Agent #4 (on sale 9/24)

Cherish Chen (Writer), Kieran McKeown (Artist)
Cover by Ejikure | Variant Cover by Annie Wu | Variant Cover by David Lopez | Revenge of the Sith 20th Anniversary Variant Cover by Chris Sprouse

THE DOCTOR & THE WOOKIEE!

  • After months in the New Republic’s service against her will, DOCTOR APHRA and CHEWBACCA are tasked with providing security for a vital diplomatic mission on a remote desert kingdom!
  • But a connection from the past threatens to upend the whole event!
  • Who is the mystery saboteur, and will they successfully foil Aphra’s operation?

Doctor Aphra: Chaos Agent just launched its first issue this week, which I found to be a delight, with great humor and an interesting new status quo, while I felt like missing returning characters were part of the story of Aphra’s new lot in life, so the potential for their return is high. Also, when I was lucky enough to interview Cherish Chen, the writer for Aphra’s new adventures, she didn’t say no when I asked about Magna Tolvan and Sana Starros, while her insights into her series help set the stage of what we’re already seeing, so make sure to check that out!! As for this fourth issue, it is interesting to see we have another legacy character, Chewbacca, coming to the series, but Krrsantan and Aphra have a long history so his return to her life should be very entertaining, and not just because we’ll get to see these two Wookiee titans fight! And maybe it’s just the start of returning characters… Issue #4 also sees a new artist join the series, Kieran McKeown, and he’s already been posting previews of his work via his Instagram! Someone complied it on Reddit, but it looks fantastic, reveals Aphra gets her tattoos back quickly, and shows us the interesting new desert kingdom society a bit! This Aphra fan is very excited about the future of the character.

DARK HORSE

Hyperspace Stories – Codebreaker #4 (on sale 9/3)

Ethan Sacks (Writer), Marc Yarza (Artist)
Cover by Diego Galindo

Cornered by the Banshee of Bestine, Poe and BB-8 have only one way to escape with the code breaker and their lives. The Resistance pilot must improvise for a last-ditch dog fight against his nemesis. What follows is a feat of flying that will take all of Poe’s knowledge, skill, and dumb luck to survive! Don’t miss the high-octane conclusion to this miniseries!

The first issue of Codebreaker has a delight, though delays have meant we’ve not been able to enjoy a second issue yet. But if it all holds and this series ends in September, it looks to be doing so in the same action-packed fashion the opening issue brought fans. I’ll have a review of the miniseries then!

Hyperspace Stories – Tides of Terror #2 (on sale 9/3)

George Mann (Writer), Luis Morocco/Le Beau Underwood (Artists)
Cover by Eduardo Mello

Axil Research Station is in chaos! After a massive explosion rocked the underwater base, Jedi Master Kit Fisto and his Padawan, Nahdar Vebb, try to evacuate as many people as possible. But time is running out! Seawater is flooding the station, and with giant beasts lurking in the depths, it’s a race to make it to the surface . . .

{Originally solicited for August, now out in September} I think it’ll be neat to see Fisto in his natural habitat, water, but also I’ll be interested to see how the art team plans on bringing it all to life…we’ve not had a lot of water content in the comics so I’m down for that to change!

Tales from the Nightlands #1 (on sale 9/3)

Cavan Scott (Writer), Soo Lee (Artists)
Cover by Francesco Francavilla

On Ryloth, Twi’leks whisper about the Nightlands, the realm where their spirits retire after death. Legend says that on nights when the veil is thinnest, you can speak with the shades who reside there.

On one such night, Anakin Skywalker and his Twi’lek friend Daesha try to summon the ghost of a much-loved relative for a final goodbye. But when Anakin makes contact with the Nightlands, the answer is anything but friendly…

Enter: The Nightlander, a Star Wars boogeyman that seeks to possess a living host and bring chaos to the galaxy!

  • Written by Cavan Scott, the New York Times bestselling author of Star Wars: Tales from Vader’s Castle and a story architect of The High Republic initiative.
  • Introducing the Nightlander, a Star Wars boogeyman designed by legendary artist Iain McCaig!
  • Three issue series.

It’s been two years since a brand-new all-ages horror series from Count Cavan Scott and thankfully 2025 is the return of the frights with this three-issue series, Tales from the Nightlands! The first issue, as seen in the solicit above, involves Anakin Skywalker and new character, a Twi’lek friend named Daesha, though in the original announcement it said it would be Anakin and Obi-Wan trying to summon Qui-Gon Jinn, so I’m sure Obi-Wan will be there too but I like the idea of a new character as well. How/when did Anakin make this friend? As for the other two issues, we’ll see Luke and Leia and then Rey and Finn!!
