Comic News: Rogue One 10th Anniversary Comics, Marvel’s Sole 2026 Women’s History Month Variant Unveiled

It doesn’t seem possible that we’re already at the 10th Anniversary of Rogue One‘s release, but maybe it’s because we just finished Andor last year? Or I don’t want to admit the passage of time? Either way, Marvel isn’t letting us forget it’s time to celebrate, as they have put together a series of one-shots focusing on key characters, like Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, and even Chirrut & Baze, which kicks off this May! In other Marvel news, we have our first glimpse at the one and only Women’s History Month variant cover for 2026, done by a new to Star Wars artist, Elena Casagrande! Coincidence the upcoming Rogue One comics only has one marginalized creative? Yes, but not a surprise when it comes to comics. Canon Comic Miniseries Review: Boba Fett – Black, White & Red

– Spoiler Review –

After the Sith Lords got to flex their might in the pages of the two previous Black, White & Red miniseries, Marvel went for a change of pace. Despite his gear being anything but black and red, the notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett got his chance to show off his particular set of skills in the unique format, and all the creative teams involved rose to the challenge. Boba Fett: Black, White & Red turned out to be the series’ best, reinvigorating the concept with memorable stories and exceptional art. A tie-in being allowed in this economy?! And it’s something Dave Filoni is involved in?! I’m going to need a minute to recover. Comic News: Boba Fett Gets the Black, White & Red Treatment this September

Marvel’s back at it again with the Black, White & Red anthology series, and while I was hoping for Kylo Ren, they went for a change of pace I can get behind, as September 17 will see the release of Boba Fett: Black, White & Red! It follows more in the Darth Maul version’s footsteps, with each of its four issues from different creative teams, but I appreciate how we’re leaving the lightsaber wielding baddies behind for bounty hunters, as it seems like a trickier proposition for the various art teams to fit within the series’ conventions. Check out the solicitation for issue #1 and its cover below! Continue reading “Comic News: Boba Fett Gets the Black, White & Red Treatment this September”

Canon Comic Review: Darth Maul – Black, White & Red #1

– Spoiler Review –

After Darth Vader, the next most obvious choice for the darker Black, White & Red line for Star Wars was Darth Maul, and with the first issue of his series alone, he seems like the better choice overall. With a story by Benjamin Percy and art by Stefano Raffaele with colors by Raúl Angulo, Darth Maul: Black, White & Red #1 gets off to a spooky and memorable start. Comic News: Darth Maul Stars in Latest Black, White & Red Miniseries, Out April 2024

Darth Vader certainly brought the chills in his, and Star Wars’ first, Black, White & Red miniseries, though considering how much Vader content we’ve had, it didn’t quite hit as hard. Now Darth Maul enters the ring for his own Black, White & Red miniseries and, given his spooky and bloody publishing history plus his iconic, devilish look, I do believe he’ll make even more of a splash in this format. Out April 25, 2024, the four-issue series will have a different creative team for each entry, with first featuring Benjamin Percy and Stefano Raffaele. Check out a few more details, as well as some wicked cool covers, for the first issue below, otherwise visit the Manor for our reviews starting April!
