Updates regarding the much anticipated From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back have been sparse to non-existent since its announcement but one of the most moments leading up to its release has finally happened: social cards revealing who or what each of the 40 authors is writing about! Rolled out in 5 minutes intervals through Del Rey’s Twitter account, it was a blast to watch the unveiling unfold, especially when the Twitter account VeersWatch got his due. Marvel’s The High Republic Comic Series Previewed

With the novels getting much of the spotlight in the build-up to the January 2021 release of The High Republic publishing initiative, it’s about time the comics shared in the hype! The official site’s blog hosted a preview of the first issue of Marvel’s The High Republic on-going comic, written by Cavan Scott, pencils by Ario Anindito, inks by Mark Morales, and a cover from Phil Noto. In it, we’re introduced to Keeve Trennis, her Master Sskeer, and a funny connection from a comic released in 2015. Comics have become a giant part of my fandom and this small tease is enough to take my excitement for the High Republic initiative to a whole new level. The High Republic Website Launches, First Look at Yoda

We might have to wait until January 2021 for the launch of The High Republic and thankfully Lucasfilm is providing a steady drip of new details and teases which help keep it in our collective consciousness. Today, The High Republic received a landing page on the official site, full of updated looks at Jedi like Avar Kriss, Keeve Trennis, and…Yoda (!), among other features. Star Wars Comics November 2020 Solicitations

November is usually a time for large gatherings of family and friends from all over the country for Thanksgiving traditions here in the States, but it’s still an unknown if that’ll even be possible this year. Despite the pandemic, one of the most important elections in this country’s history will take place, so make sure you’re registered and make your voice heard. And then of course, do your best to enjoy these upcoming issues of Star Wars comics, which include a few new artists on series, the promise of the most epic dog fight in comic history, the return of Sana Starros to wreak havoc on Aphra’s life, and more! From A Certain Point Of View: The Empire Strikes Back Announced for November 2020 (Updated)

From a Certain Point of View was such a fun and unique way to celebrate A New Hope’s 40th Anniversary, The Empire Strikes Back’s own 40th birthday wouldn’t feel the same without it, and thankfully Del Rey announced From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back, out November 10! Revealed June 11, over 30 of the book’s 40 authors took to Twitter (thanks to Sarah for compiling the authors) to confirm their involvement, while the final few, plus some teases on what they are writing, were revealed today, June 15. The High Republic Launch Moved to January 2021

In an unfortunate but completely understandable move, considering the unprecedented situation facing the world, the launch of The High Republic publishing initiative has been delayed until January 2021. This news seemed inevitable after last week’s updated Star Wars comic solicitations for August did not include a single issue of The High Republic’s comic series, and delaying the whole initiative since the comics couldn’t come out in time shows how important every medium is in telling this new and exciting story. As sad as this development might be, a note included with the official site’s blog post about the delay, written by creative director of Lucasfilm Publishing Michael Siglain, offered some tantalizing teases of what’s to come. Star Wars Comics August 2020 Solicitations

More and more of the upcoming Star Wars comic releases become clear as companies reshuffle their schedules in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic related closures. We got updated June and July 2020 solicitations earlier this week, and now plans for August are becoming clear: many of the issues meant originally for May will be released, though there’s one big omission for the moment: The High Republic comics meant to premiere alongside the rest of the initiative in August. There’s no update at this time if they’ll still release then or a little later, but we’ll update you as soon as we hear more (UPDATE 5/26: High Republic was moved to January), though in the meantime head below to see which comics, like Aphra, Vader, and the latest Star Wars, will hit in August! Updated Star Wars Comics June and July 2020 Solicitations

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world in many different and unpredictable ways, and the entertainment industry has been in flux ever since. Comics stopped shipping for the most part in early April after Diamond Comics stopped distribution, but they have since begun shipping once again, with new comics hitting open comic shops for the first time on May 20. The upcoming schedule of comics has drastically changed, so the previously promised Star Wars comics have shifted in a big way. Marvel and IDW have begun to reveal their updated schedules (via Florian of Jedi-Bibliothek), so we’ve included the new list for the issues out in June and July 2020 below! The prequels were full of villains, many easy to see from a parsec away, but one who could hide in plain sight, and look quite dashing while doing so (even in pjs), was none other than the luxurious Count Dooku! While a key component in Darth Sidious’ plans, Dooku wasn’t always a dashing looking Sith and Separatist leader, he was once even a Jedi!
