Don’t mind me, over here in the corner, breathing painfully into a brown paper bag, worrying about what these November 2019 Star Wars comics solicitations are pointing towards: the potential end of the Doctor Aphra series?!!!!!??? But let’s not focus on endings and look forward to…wait, now the Star Wars mainline series is ending (for now)?! Star Wars Mainline Series Ends with Issue #75 in November

Since 2015, the Star Wars comic series has been following the exploits of Leia, Luke, and Han between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, where we’ve gotten everything from the reveal of Han Solo’s ‘wife,’ Obi-Wan’s Journals, Han Solo shirtless, to Rogue Squadron forming and so much more, and in November 2019, 75 issues later, the current era of the series will come to an end. It will return in some capacity and sometime in October, probably NYCC, we’ll learn just what that means. Some thoughts on the series “ending,” where it could go/I hope it could go, and the Manor’s plans for reviewing the entire series. Canon Comic Miniseries Review: Age of Rebellion

Age of Rebellion Miniseries Review 2

Age of Rebellion is the middle “Age” of the Age of Star Wars maxiseries, but having to follow in the footsteps of Houser and team’s Republic seemed like a difficult job. Greg Pak, a few other writers, and the various artists along for the ride delved into the latest “Age” with aplomb, and while most of it was simply good, it’s highs were quite the zenith. Age of Resistance overloads in September, finishing up its run, and the entirety of the “Age of Star Wars” maxiseries with some big sequel trilogy names, like Rey, Rose, Kylo, and Snoke (good luck to the artist having to draw Snoke’s golden robes!), while Doctor Aphra hits its “Unspeakable” penultimate issue, the video game prequel Jedi: Fallen Order – Dark Temple begins introducing players to its story, and some rock monsters mind probe Threepio; you know, totally ordinary business.
