While their time in animation is seemingly over for now, you can’t keep a good clone down, as Clone Force 99, aka the Bad Batch, returns for more hijinks in Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch – Ghost Agents, a comic miniseries from Dark Horse that’s written by Michael Moreci. Really beyond the Hyperspace Stories maxiseries, Dark Horse’s comics output has largely been about The High Republic Adventures and its various spin-offs and one-shots, and while there was plenty of news and previews galore of the various storylines (like Alyssa Wong is writing an upcoming one-shot) at this year’s NYCC panel, new, non-THRA content was focused on as well, including a Poe Dameron miniseries! Sometimes, it’s just one of those days: an audiobook original for Audible gets shadow dropped by Disney Lucasfilm Press, while Dark Horse announces both a Bad Batch focused miniseries for January 2025 (via Star Wars News Net), and The High Republic Adventures Annual Phase III. Audible’s Padawan’s Pride follows a young Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the early days of their training (and I’ve already listened to some of it), Clone Force 99 rides again in Hyperspace Stories – The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents, set during the Clone Wars, and the THRA Annual bring 5 stories of light and life during the era’s third Phase. Star Wars comics’ September 2023 is going to be quite an interesting month, because if you’re not that interested in another crossover from Marvel, your only other options are adaptations of TV shows, including a newly announced one for Obi-Wan Kenobi.
