Star Wars Visions Review: “BLACK”

Spoiler Review

Star Wars: Visions Vol. 3 saved the series’ strangest and most unique short for last with David Production’s “BLACK,” which makes the final moments of a dying stormtrooper into a visual journey unlike anything else, and while your mileage may vary, it’s well-worth experiencing. Star Wars Visions Review: “The Bird of Paradise”

Spoiler Review

Polygon Pictures, which has helped on series like The Clone Wars and Star Wars Resistance, gets its first short in Star Wars: Visions Vol. 3’s “The Bird of Paradise.” With lush visuals depicting blindness and a focus on the main character’s inner struggles against the dark side, it’s a memorable yet uneven short. Star Wars Visions Review: “The Bounty Hunters”

Spoiler Review

WIT Studio’s “The Bounty Hunters” might be too short for some of its ideas, but its odd pair of titular characters, their past, and the situation before them makes it an early standout in both returning and original shorts in Star Wars: Visions Vol. 3. Star Wars Visions Review: “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope”

Spoiler Review

After the original “The Ninth Jedi” short left such an indelible impression, I still haven’t quite recovered from the announcement it will have a full series in 2026. To whet our appetites until then, Production IG returns for Star Wars: Visions Vol. 3 with director Naoyoshi Shiotani’s “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope,” an intriguing follow-up I quite enjoyed that expands the short’s world and pushes us towards what the series might be like, though it left me wishing this had just been part of the series. It’s toy-like design, whimsical world, and musically driven ideas lead to a final episode containing everything that’s made this season even more special than the first.
