Ronin – A Visions Novel, written by Emma Mieko Candon, is one of a kind in so many ways, all of them stupendously good. Based off Star Wars Visions’ “The Duel,” Ronin expands on the short’s world, diving deep into its memorable characters and ripening its already intriguing story/take on the galaxy far, far away, resulting in a refreshing read that has all the hallmarks of the franchise wrapped in its original influences, explored with engulfing conversations and revelations that’ll stick with readers long after they finish. Not even a week after the curtain was finally pulled back on the upcoming Star Wars Visions, premiering on Disney+ September 22, we finally learned more details about, alongside a gorgeous cover reveal, its tie-in novel, Ronin – A Visions Novel, written by Emma Mieko Candon. Original Novel Star Wars Visions: Ronin Announced, Out October

When Lucasfilm revealed the future of Star Wars, with tons of content flowing through Disney+, one of the more intriguing shows was Star Wars Visions, an anthology collection which will, “…bring 10 fantastic visions from several of the leading Japanese anime studios.” It’s not even out yet and it has inspired an original novel, Star Wars Visions: Ronin, by Emma Mieko Candon, set to release October 12, with the book’s announcement confirming the show will be out 2021. I’m eager to learn more about this book, especially if Candon pitched them a book with “a transcendent sense of hope,” as this could be an intriguing new concept for a novel.
