Set towards the end of the show’s second season, the group finds themselves ferrying two fugitives that turns into a far more complex and interesting situation, as what starts as an extension of the series dives much deeper into this unique set of clones than the show usually did, adding depth before their lives change forever. The Bad Batch’s second season provides us with its next two-parter, “The Clone Conspiracy” & “Truth and Consequences,” which sees Imperial Senate debating Admiral Rampart’s plans for conscription recruitments as the truth of his destruction of Kamino threatens to become public. Combined, these are the best episodes of the season so far, even over “The Solitary Clone,” as this glimpse at the larger story and the rest of the galaxy brings some much appreciated elevated stakes, drama, and thrust for the final half of the season.
