Ep. VII‘s cast continues to grow and Lucasfilm finally makes a statement regarding Harrison Ford’s on the set injury which took the rumor-mill and easily fearful by storm for the past few weeks.
Following Harrison’s Ford injury, there was tons of speculation and rumors regarding how it would effect Ep. VII‘s filming, with word going so far as to say Ford’s head would be digitally pasted on his stunt double’s body. And while I can’t lie that I wasn’t the only one to have joined in a little on the teasing and snark surrounding the whole accident, there will always be this awesome LEGO reproduction of it:

Thankfully, putting all those fears to rest, today the official Star Wars site (which received a gorgeous update) revealed that, “In August, the team will take a brief two-week hiatus while adjustments to the current production schedule are made as actor Harrison Ford recovers from a leg injury.” The film is still set to make its debut on December 18, 2015 (in case you hadn’t marked it on your calendar yet).
On top of that, it was announced both Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen have been added to the ever growing Ep. VII cast! Clarke and Anderson have taken the parts that the open casting call was looking to fill last year. See, it might have paid off to have given the open casting a shot, hey? Everyone might have been reporting about your inclusion in the highly anticipated film…or I could’ve been reporting on mine. Maybe Ep. VIII? One of the standalones?
