Alphabet Squadron: Victory’s Price is the Trilogy’s Ominous Sounding Finale

Alphabet Squadron Victory's Price Cover Revealed

The Alphabet Squadron Trilogy is fresh off its truly riveting second entry, Shadow Fall, and a title like Victory’s Price for the grand finale sounds par for the course, especially since it’s so ominous. The cover has also been revealed, alongside a blurb, to get readers hyped for all the incoming pain straight to the heart when the book releases March 2021. Head below to see the full cover (which does have all of Alphabet Squad on it, and once you see it, it hurts…) and some thoughts on the blurb. (via Nerdist). UPDATE: My Victory’s Price review is here!

Alphabet Squadron Victory's Price Full CoverYes, that’s Wyl Lark, the baby faced pilot who has definitely seen STUFF, sporting a beard now. As for how all of Alphabet Squadron is on the cover, like they have been on all three covers, remember Yrica Quell’s choice at the end of Shadow Fall…yup, that’s her they’re chasing alright; We are so not ready for this one.

Here’s the blurb:

“In the wake of Yrica Quell’s shocking decision—and one of the fiercest battles of their lives—the remnants of Alphabet Squadron seek answers and closure across a galaxy whose old war scars are threatening to reopen.

Soran Keize has returned to the tip of Shadow Wing’s spear. Operation Cinder, the terrifying protocol of planetary extermination which began in the twilight of the Imperial era, burns throughout the galaxy. Shadow Wing is no longer wounded prey fleeing the hunters of the New Republic. With its leader, its strength has returned, and its Star Destroyers and TIE squadrons lurk in the darkness between stars, carrying out the fallen Emperor’s final edict of destruction—as well as another, stranger mission, one Keize has championed not for the dying Empire, but for its loyal soldiers.

Alphabet Squadron’s ships are as ramshackle and damaged as their spirits, but they’ve always had each other. Now, as they face the might of Keize’s reborn juggernaut, they aren’t even sure they have that. How do you catch a shadow? How do you kill it? And when you’re finally victorious, who pays the price?”

How do you catch a shadow? That sends shivers up and down my spine! I’m glad we don’t have to wait terribly long for this conclusion, as I can’t wait to see what happens to these wonderful messes of pilots. And I’m very surprised to hear Keize has gotten so powerful since the previous book, but I’ll be very interested to see what this strange mission is and if Quell has anything to do with it.

Roqoo Depot shared what all three covers look like together:

And then writer Alexander Freed shared some tongue-in-cheek alternative titles for Victory’s Price. Winds of Winter would’ve been hilarious; Which is basically the opposite for Alphabet Squadron, making it all the better.
