Having just wrapped up Qi’ra’s big return trilogy in comics, the Marvel Star Wars comics panel at Celebration Europe set its sights on the future, diving into issues coming out in the next few months and revealed the next big crossover: Dark Droids! Even before things get crazy with the crossover, there looks to be a lot to enjoy, while the Aphra series gets even weirder and intriguing with the return of Shaak Ti (?!?!) and something called Starweird, while Older writing about Max Rebo sounds fitting and I can’t wait. As for Dark Droids, let’s just say what they showed and talked about put me at ease about another crossover event. Head below for covers, previews, and more! The Bad Batch Panel: Final Season Out 2024, Fennec Shand Returns (SWCE 2023)
The Bad Batch panel was actually streaming on Celebration Live, so you can check out the whole thing, minus the exclusive trailer, after about like the first 5 minutes of the stream above. A lot of the panel was focused on Tech’s death, the themes of the season, the Zillo beast clone, and how beautiful the sushi looked. During it they announced a season three, though as I was guessing in my reviews, it’s also the show’s final season, coming out in 2024. The official site shared some details on the trailer only shown to fans, with Fennec Shan’s return shown, more big monsters, Palpatine on Tantiss, and even Commander Wolffe, among other things. Hopefully we’ll get to see some footage soon ourselves, but with it out in 2024, it might be awhile.

Publishing Panels Round Up: Dark Horse Has Jaxxon, High Republic Adventures Phase III, Lucasfilm Shows More FaCPOV – Return of the Jedi, Wookiee Reference Book, And More! (SWCA 2023)
Day Three of Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 had two different publishing focused panels, starting with a full one just for Dark Horse‘s contributions and later one for Lucasfilm Publishing‘s own works, though both were a little light on announcements. Dark Horse focused on Jaxxon, as their upcoming Annual stars the hare-brained scoundrel (and writer Cavan Scott promised there will be more), and some upcoming The High Republic Adventures teases for Phase II and Phase III. Lucasfilm Publishing spent time revealing new pages from upcoming reference titles, announcing a new one all about Wookiees (!!), and of course more The High Republic content as well. Head below for the sneak peaks! The High Republic Show Season Three Premiere: Phase II Reveals and Celebration London Hype
I can’t believe we’re on what’s being called the third season of The High Republic Show! Host Krystina Arielle is hilarious as ever, from the skit with the Yoda statue to her presence in interviews, it’s a blessing she’s still with the team. The first show of the season and the latest for Phase II does a great job catching up fans on what’s all happened so far, and while it has some interior sneak peek for upcoming content, it’s clear they are holding back a bit for the Celebration Europe panel in April. Head below for the new looks ahead. Continue reading “The High Republic Show Season Three Premiere: Phase II Reveals and Celebration London Hype”
High Republic Anthology Titled Tales of Light and Life, Celebration London Panel Revealed
The High Republic’s Phase II: Quest for the Jedi is barreling towards it end in May, leavings fans to wait for Phase III to start in November, though thankfully there’ll be content to tide everyone over, like the much-anticipated YA Anthology featuring all the initiative’s authors! Entertainment Weekly revealed the anthology’s title is Tales of Light and Life, alongside showing off its cover and featuring an excerpt from Claudia Gray’s short story, so head below for more details on the anthology book and when to expect the High Republic panel at Celebration London in April! The Bad Batch Season 2 Panel (SWCA 2022)
Talk about an exciting and thrilling trailer! The Bad Batch is making a gloriously large return this fall, if the trailer is anything to go by, as it even elicited an audible gasp with the return of Jedi Padawan Gungi the Wookiee, while the updated armor is a fun change and the lush animation is hard to look away from. We’ll explore some other details and the questions which arise around Gungi’s return below, but I have to start by covering how unfortunately, while the rest of the clones look to be animated darker like their Māori ancestor, Temuera Morrison aka Jango Fett, the Bad Batch themselves have not been fixed regardless of fan outcry and their initial acknowledgment of the problem (and while the rest of the clones are looking more appropriate, now it means the darker-skinned characters are the ‘villains’), so I don’t believe they ever intended to truly address this issue and it’s a damn shame. Tales of the Jedi Panel: First Details, Ahsoka, Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn And More Confirmed (SWCA 2022)
The newest animation project is Tales of the Jedi, which will consist of 6 tone-poem like episodes focused on two very different characters: Ahsoka Tano and Dooku! Like most panels at Celebration Anaheim 2022, it wasn’t streamed to the general audience and the trailer wasn’t released either, while attendees also got to watch one of the Ahsoka episodes! After seeing a cellphone recording of the trailer and reading through a few live-tweets of the panel, it certainly looks to be an exciting and unique idea, which I hope can be expanded on to include more episodes, more eras, and more characters! Tales of the Jedi will premiere Fall 2022 (so maybe after Andor, just before The Bad Batch season 2?), but head below for some details and images! Continue reading “Tales of the Jedi Panel: First Details, Ahsoka, Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn And More Confirmed (SWCA 2022)”
Marvel Star Wars Comics Panel: Yoda Miniseries, Visions Comics Announced (SWCA 2022)
While earlier panels, like the publishing one and The High Republic‘s gave us glimpses at some of the various upcoming comics from both Dark Horse and Marvel, the latter’s output got its own time to shine. It explored some of what’s to come on series we already know and love and revealed two exciting upcoming projects: a Yoda miniseries spanning different eras of the little green guy’s life and Star Wars: Visions related comics as well!
