Andor Series Premiere Review: “Episodes 1-3”

– Spoiler Review –

Rogue One, is one of the more recent films well-beloved by many, often for its story, action, humor, and heart, but also its characters and their struggles against the giant Imperial war machine that will change the fate of the galaxy. While all the characters deserve more insight into their pasts, Cassian Andor and his darker side of the Rebellion, a spy or assassin depending on the job, was full of potential and thus was born Andor, a show about his past and how he becomes such a vital and faithful member of the Rebellion against the Empire. There’s been a lot of expectations for this show since it was first announced and as more details started trickling in, and after finally seeing the first three episodes, I can comfortably say it manages to live up to any and all expectations I’ve had, but also promises to blow them out of this galaxy over the course of this season alone. New Andor Trailer Wows, Premiering Sept 21 Now With 3 Episodes

My initial reaction is laden with expletives, because holy mynocks is that a brilliant full trailer for Andor! I love what they’ve managed to do with the Volume to shoot most of the other shows (and can’t wait to see how they continue to use it), but Andor filmed for a long time on a lot of sets and it’s clear from this trailer how visually stunning that’s helped make this show. It looks like another Star Wars movie, but this time on the small screen via Disney+! While it’s disappointing the show’s been delayed until September 21 for its premiere, bringing with it three-episodes instead, I think this trailer shows why it’s going to be way worth that wait. Since I last covered Andor at the Lucasfilm Showcase Panel, while we knew the two season show would take place 5 years prior to Rogue One and lead right into it, it’s since been revealed season 1 will take place over a year, while every three episodes of season two will cover a year, taking us up to the film; it’s a gutsy idea and I can’t wait to see how it’s handled, especially since season one looks so incredible already. Head below for character names and a slick new poster! UPDATE: Here’s our review of the series’ three episode premiere; follow along here for more reviews as the series airs!
