Legendary Adventures: Legacy of the Force – Invincible

Darth Caedus’s take over of the Galactic Alliance (now paired with the Imperial Remnant) is finally completed. Only his sister stands in his way – and she has gone to the ends of the galaxy, and Jedi teaching, to stop him. Join the Legendary Adventures as we finish the Legacy of the Force series with Invincible!

There are many ways to create an Empire. In the time of the galactic Sith Empire, Sith Lord Darth Vitiate rammed a ship full of Sith into the Jedi Temple to leverage his place in the galaxy. In the time of the Galactic Civil War, Darth Sidious used his political wiles (and the connections of Darth Plagueis) to be voted in as Chancellor of the Republic, turning it into an Empire. Now, Darth Caedus has taken over the Galactic Alliance through political coups and his Sith power alike. The Jedi, led by Grand Master Luke Skywalker, stand ready to oppose Caedus – and free the galaxy from the reign of the Sith (again).

The Imperial Remnant has teamed up with the Galactic Alliance, under the command of Sith Lord Darth Caedus. They hope to take over Verpine technology, using it in their war against those who would oppose them. Right now, the main opposition force is the Mandalorians, who have teamed up with Jaina Solo to stop Caedus. The Alliance-Remnant team developed a nanovirus, aiming at destroying Verpines, using biological warfare in order to wipe out their forces. Jaina leaves the battle, but the Mandalorians stay to continue to combat the new unholy Alliance.

Jaina, finally, returns to the Jedi, after being away for a while both to train with the Mandalorians and to voyage across the galaxy. They plan an incursion into Coruscant, hoping to find more information on where Caedus is so that Jaina can stop him. Luke Skywalker has decided this battle cannot be decided by him or by his skills. He knows that he is too emotionally affected by the death of his wife, Mara Jade Skywalker. When he first learned Mara was killed, he went to kill Sith Lady Lumiya, whom he believed was the murderer. When he realized she didn’t kill Mara, he did recognize the effect of the Dark Side of the Force on his soul, knowing facing Caedus would cause him to fall even deeper into the chasm of darkness. Thankfully, the Jedi are not forced to go to Coruscant, as they are able to find out Caedus’s location without that knowledge. Ben Skywalker is captured on Coruscant with Lon Shevu, and is taken to Caedus’ location. Luke gives this information to Jaina, with a command to both save Ben and defeat Caedus.

As Leia Organa-Solo and her husband, Han Solo, team up with some Jedi to distract Caedus’s forces, Jaina sneaks aboard his flagship, aiming to kill him as a sniper. Caedus battles the Mandalorians, defeating them before engaging with Jaina. Luke uses the Force to disguise Jaina as Luke, and Caedus believes he is fighting Luke rather than his sister. Jaina manages to disarm Caedus by removing his, well, arm, and Caedus causes massive damage to Jaina through the use of Force Lightning. Jaina is able to escape, and she begins to recuperate with the Jedi and plan on facing Caedus again. Jaina is unfortunately unable to save Ben, who is still on Coruscant. He is being tortured by fallen Jedi Tahiri Veila, who is being trained by Caedus as his next Sith apprentice. As she asks for information on the Jedi from Ben, she accidentally succumbs to her strong emotions and kills Ben’s friend Len. Ben uses this moment to escape, incapacitating the guards and Tahiri. Ben is able to return to the Jedi, but he is not met with good news: Caedus is on his way, and he plans on destroying all of them. On his way back to the Jedi, though, he is able to meet with the Hapans, and enlists their help against Caedus.

But as Caedus recuperates, the Jedi are faced with bad news again and again. Caedus is able to leave a blood mark on Jaina, which allows him to track her through the Force. With this tracking, the Jedi will not be able outrun Caedus, but may instead have to turn their efforts against him directly. The other bad news is that the Imperial Remnant is turning their biological agent formerly used against the Verpine against the Hapans, who are standing against them. This makes Caedus angry, as he has a daughter with Hapan blood, Allana. Caedus tries to enlist the help of Prince Isolder to stop the Remnant, but Isolder stands against him, and Caedus feels forced to kill him.

Jaina then comes face to face with Caedus, fresh off his murder of Isolder. He is distracted, hoping to stop the Remnant from using their nanovirus on the Hapans. Jaina does not believe he would be working in anyone else’s interest, especially considering that she does not know of the family connection to Allana and the Hapans. The two engage in an all-out brawl, and both sustain major injuries. When Caedus sees he is losing, he turns inward, and turns back to the light, hoping to warn Tahiri to save the Hapans. Jaina does not know of this inward conversion, and kills him before his warning is able to go out in full. She is left physically and emotionally crushed, knowing she has acted as the sword that ended the life of her brother. Tahiri is able to turn back to the light, based both on the help of Ben and Jacen’s last message to her, and the Jedi are saved from the latest wave of Sith assaults on their lives.

With the end of the Second Galactic Civil War, the shape of the galaxy has shifted. Jagged Fel becomes head of the Imperial Remnant, promising to undo the damage Caedus has caused within their ranks. Han and Leia take in Allana as their new daughter, caring for her as her adoptive parents so no one knows her connection with Caedus. Maybe most terrifyingly, Admiral Natasi Daala becomes the new Chief of State. And this new Chief of State sees one person to blame for the galaxy’s woes, and turns the full force of the Alliance on one man: Luke Skywalker.
