Since its announcement back in October, The Mandalorian has been filming for these past few months, with rumors and industry trades getting fans’ hopes up for the show’s cast. Thankfully Lucasfilm has put it all to rest and officially announced the show’s cast: Pedro Pascal, “…has been cast in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter,” with Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito (the most exciting cast announcement for me!), Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte rounding out the rest. No release date yet for The Mandalorian, but it’ll premiere on Disney+ after the service goes live late 2019.
Pedro Pascal took to Instagram to share concept art by Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), who is directing the first episode and is executive producer on the show.
UPDATED: We now have a composer as well, Black Panther, Creed, Venom, and Community‘s own Ludwig Göransson!
