Star Wars Comics June 2025 Solicitations

I was already conflicted over my feelings for June 2025’s Star Wars comics, but I’m even more so after the big news: Doctor Aphra returns in her next series!! I’m beyond hyped to have her particular brand of chaos back and love she’s launching during Pride Month, but June also contains the big finale to the entire The High Republic initiative (for now), which I’m both excited for and concerned as hell for! Yay more Aphra, sad the High Republic is closing! Conflicted, for sure. Whether you are or not, head below to see June 2025’s Star Wars comics solicitations!

June equals Pride Month and we’ll have a separate post of 2025’s variant covers once they are totally released, soon!

MARVEL

The High Republic – Fear of the Jedi #5 (on sale 6/4)

A CALL TO ARMS!

  • The GIOS under attack! REPUBLIC forces outnumbered and outgunned!
  • With the BATTLE FOR ERIADU and the fate of the Republic hanging in the balance, JEDI MARSHAL KEEVE TRENNIS addresses the galaxy!
  • The end of the war is coming, but who will pay the ultimate price?

We’re a few days away from the second issue of this five-issue miniseries, but to think the finale is just months away and it’s also lining up with the ending of the entire initiative?! Wild. It’s over four years since the initiative started and while that felt so far away, as we close in on the end, it doesn’t seem like that long ago. Fear of the Jedi started rather strong, building on so much that’s come before to deliver what is likely an emotional finale given what we know happens with Keeve Trennis. How it all goes down will be what I’m most interested, and afraid, to see!

Jedi Knights #4 (on sale 6/4)

Marc Guggenheim (Writer), Madibek Musabekov (Artist)

THE GALACTIC CHASE TO END ALL CHASES!

  • PHAEDRA (from HAN SOLO & CHEWBACCA) has stolen thousands of credits from JABBA THE HUTT and now AURRA SING, ZAM WESELL, BANE MALAR and the entire galaxy is after her…
  • …including JEDI KNIGHTS QUI-GON JINN and SHAAK TI!
  • Guest-starring: JANGO FETT!

Jedi Knights’ first issue took me by surprise, as while I was optimistic about it, it exceeded expectations! We’ll see if that trend continues when the second issue hits in April, but this glimpse into June’s fourth sounds like another big, fun adventure! Phaedra was a standout in Guggenheim’s Han Solo & Chewbacca maxiseries, so I’m really happy we’ll get to see her again (I didn’t realize she was the character fighting with Jango Fett in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s vision in the first issue, but it makes sense now why she seemed familiar!), while the who’s who of bounty hunters like Aurra Sing, Zam Wesell, and Jango Fett is quite the line-up; Guggenheim featured Malar in his Return of the Jedi: Jabba’s Palace #1 issue!

Star Wars #2 {2025} (on sale 6/11)

Alex Segura (Writer), Phil Noto (Artist)
Cover by Phil Noto | Variant cover by Leinil Francis Yu | The Force Awakens 10th Anniversary Variant Cover by Chris Sprouse | Action Figure Variant Cover by John Tyler Christopher | Pride Variant Cover by Luciano Vecchio

ACTION AND ADVENTURE CONTINUES IN THE POST-RETURN OF THE JEDI ERA!

  • What secret did the NAGAI PILOT tell LUKE SKYWALKER?
  • What is the CROWN OF VERITY?
  • What tragedy awaits Luke on the winter planet of GADRILIM?

The new era of the Star Wars mainline series kicks off in May and it seems its second issue will put Luke Skywalker center stage, much like the new Doctor Aphra series will as well! Luke in this era is a hot commodity and anything which enlightens us about his actions, and those of our other favorites and heroes, are something to look forward to, at least for me. As for this “Nagai,” I guess they were from Legends, starting in the Original Marvel Years and later being part of the Legacy series, but we’ll see how they are implemented here…are they the shadowy beings writer Alex Segura teased at the end of The Battle of Jakku maxiseries?

Doctor Aphra: Chaos Agent #1 (on sale 6/18)

Cherish Chen (Writer), Gabriel Guzman (Artist)

OUT FROM THE SHADOW OF DARTH VADER AND IN MORE TROUBLE THAN EVER!

  • Doctor Aphra makes her way through the galaxy in the era of the New Republic!
  • The rogue archaeologist must team up with Luke Skywalker to track down a rare artifact!
  • And what will she do when her tattoos no longer function?!

As I mentioned in my article about the Doctor Aphra: Chaos Agent announcement, as well as a deeper dive into the new series, I have to admit I’ve been theorizing on maybe too much of a weekly basis about when we’d learn about her return, so I’m relieved it’s all over! While I’d have loved Alyssa Wong’s return, I’m interested to see what the new writer, Cherish Chen, will bring to the table. Everything I’m hearing sounds like an intriguing new direction, from her working with Luke and the New Republic to track down artifacts, her tattoos no longer working, to the idea there’s someone we might know who is trying to outsmart her, I’m in! But it’s Aphra, so I’m always in, we’ll just have to see how it all plays out starting this June!

Legacy of Vader #5 (on sale 6/25)

Charles Soule (Writer), Stefano Raffaele (Artist)
Cover by Derrick Chew | Variant cover by Aka | The Force Awakens 10th Anniversary variant cover by Chris Sprouse | Pride Variant Cover by Rachael Stott

TARGET: NABOO!

  • KYLO REN and the FIRST ORDER begin the assault of NABOO!
  • But what strange game is the young tyrant playing with the fates of the people there?
  • What lesson has Kylo learned from DARTH VADER’S past?

After its second issue, I’m growing more intrigued with Soule’s Legacy of Vader, and the idea Kylo Ren’s not only going to Naboo, but launching an invasion, is all sorts of bigger than expected storylines for the series. Until we get there though, I need to know who that little rocky Hutt looking thing was that owned Kylo in issue #2!

The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation #5 (on sale 6/11)

Jody Houser (Writer), Will Sliney (Artist)
Cover by Phil Noto | Variant cover by David Lopez | Movie Variant Cover Also Available

THE LAST HOPE OF THE RESISTANCE!

  • REY races to confront PALPATINE, but can she stop him before the FINAL ORDER devastates the galaxy?
  • Hope comes from unexpected places as the RESISTANCE makes its last stand!

The adaptation that took just a few extra years to arrive comes to an end in June. You can get the trade paperback on October 21!

DARK HORSE

Hyperspace Stories – The Bad Batch: Ghost Agents #4 (on sale 6/4)

Michael Moreci (Writer), Reese Hannigan (Artist)
Cover by Valeria “Lux” Favoccia

The stolen Republic intel sought by Clone Force 99 has switched hands! Now, the data is closely guarded by none other than fearsome bounty hunter Aurra Sing. In order to survive Aurra’s onslaught, Clone Force 99 must enlist an unsavory ally — a villain who would as soon stab them in the back as save them!

{Originally solicited for May, it’s now heading for a June release, with the finale scheduled for July. Original reaction follows} I won’t be reviewing this until it wraps up in June, but as I said on Bluesky for the release of the first issue, it’s already off to an incredibly fun start and captures the banter of Clone Force 99 as if this was just a prequel to the show! If you’re holding out on picking this up, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed whenever you start. It’s not the only Bad Batch related publishing release to come in 2025, as a new novel was announced, Sanctuary, and it takes place towards the end of season two of the show (it’s out in August). I’ll be posting mini reviews on Bluesky for each issue of this series but return to the Manor in June for a bigger one!

Hyperspace Stories – Codebreaker #2 (on sale 6/4)

Ethan Sacks (Writer), Marc Yarza (Artist)
Cover by Diego Galindo

On a remote Outer Rim planet, Poe Dameron and BB-8 discover a First Order base where the enemy keeps their fabled codebreaker, used to crack secret Resistance messages. Can the two heroes infiltrate—and then escape—the high-security compound guarded by merciless stormtroopers? And what mysterious technology will they find inside?

This new miniseries has only been delayed to later in the month of April, so we’re still waiting to see how it is, but given Ethan Sacks’ previous work, I have a good feeling about this one! I do really appreciate this solicit calling BB-8 and Poe as the “two heroes,” implying they are at the same level of importance, which BB-8 deserves given all he’s done as well!

The High Republic Adventures #19 – Phase III (on sale 6/11)

Daniel José Older (Writer), Harvey Tolibao (Artist)
Cover by Elisa Romboli | Variant Cover by Elizabeth Beals

The fates of the Star Hopper Jedi are revealed! The Battle of Eriadu comes to its epic conclusion, and as the dust settles, the Jedi and the Nihil will learn lessons of heroism and horror, hope and heartbreak. Don’t miss the penultimate chapter of this iconic series!

• The climactic final battle between the Jedi and the Nihil that has been years in the making!

The High Republic Adventures #20 – Phase III (on sale 6/25)

Daniel José Older (Writer), Harvey Tolibao (Artist)
Cover by Elisa Romboli | Variant Cover by Daniel José Older

The High Republic Adventures comes to an epic conclusion! Now that the Battle of Eriadu is over, what’s next for these young heroes? Join the creative team who started it all for the final chapter of this iconic series!

• The climactic final battle between the Jedi and the Nihil that has been years in the making!

The High Republic Adventures has been Phase III’s big, beating heart, with lots of spin-offs and story, all culminating in the big Battle of Eriadu we’re currently still in the middle of! And in June, Daniel José Older’s time with the series, and maybe even Star Wars (hopefully just for now), will be ending. I’m not emotionally ready to leave these characters just yet and I’m sure Older and team will make it even harder in these final two issues. It just doesn’t seem like it should be over already! Ugh! Either way, I’m eager to see Older’s variant cover for issue #20!
