Star Wars Visions Review: “Lop & Ochō”

Star Wars Visions Lop & Ocho Review Mynock Manor

Spoiler Review

There’s been a level of greatness with the last few Star Wars Visions shorts that I wasn’t sure could continue, but Geno Studio’s “Lop & Ochō” carries the stride forwards, with its universal themes of found family familiar to the Saga, compelling story, and the unique position of putting a non-human character into the focus via Lop. Star Wars Visions Review: “The Elder”

Star Wars Visions The Elder Review Mynock Manor

Spoiler Review

Studio Trigger’s second Star Wars Visions short, “The Elder” drips with atmosphere and style, as well as philosophical discussions delving into what it means to be a Jedi as Padawan and Master confront an ancient evil. Continue reading “Star Wars Visions Review: “The Elder””

Star Wars Visions Review: “TO-B1”

Star Wars Visions TO-B1 Review Mynock Manor

Spoiler Review

Droids and their place in the galaxy has always been a complicated subject that’s mostly lacked nuance in the Saga, and while Science SARU’s first Star Wars Visions short, “TO-B1,” doesn’t necessarily touch on the conversation, it does offer better representation for the galaxy’s most reliable heroes that always go unrewarded. Star Wars Visions Review: “The Ninth Jedi”

Star Wars Visions Ninth Jedi Review Mynock Manor

Slight Spoiler Review

To quote Master Yoda, “Size matters not,” and while the length of a project doesn’t beget quality, Star Wars Visions’ longest short, “The Ninth Jedi,” by Production I.G. is one of its stunning best, thanks to many aspects including its thrilling action, unique concepts with lightsabers, and its great atmosphere. “The Ninth Jedi” keeps viewers on the edge of their seats and eagerly awaiting some type of continuation, as I know I am, considering this is my favorite short so far, just passing “The Village Bride.” Head below for our full review! Star Wars Visions Village Bride Review Mynock Manor

Slight Spoiler Review

With the first three Star Wars Visions shorts, while they all pulled viewers into their world, it takes a bit to be comfortable with their different vision, but with Kinema Citrus’ “The Village Bride,” I was fully engulfed from the start and on the edge of my seat by the end, followed by on my knees in front of the TV begging for more of this world. Needless to say, “The Village Bride” is my early favorite. Continue reading “Star Wars Visions Review: “The Village Bride””

Star Wars Visions Review: “The Twins”

Star Wars Visions The Twins Review

Slight Spoiler Review

The first of two shorts from Studio Trigger for Star Wars Visions, “The Twins” cuts straight to the core of the franchise’s themes, if maybe too quickly and on the nose, but it builds such an over-the-top, thrilling, and packed take on the Saga that it leaves you curious on where the titular twins will go next. Continue reading “Star Wars Visions Review: “The Twins””

Star Wars Visions Review: “Tatooine Rhapsody”

Slight Spoiler Review

Every short in Star Wars Visions has a unique take on the galaxy far, far away, though out of all of them, Studio Colorido’s “Tatooine Rhapsody” seemed like the biggest swing: the band Star Waver must rescue one of its members from Jabba the Hutt and Boba Fett. For me, it worked better than expected and provided a good uplifting time, even if it all felt surface deep. Continue reading “Star Wars Visions Review: “Tatooine Rhapsody””

Star Wars Visions Review: “The Duel”

Star Wars Visions The Duel Review Mynock Manor

Slight Spoiler Review

Star Wars Visions is here, a revolutionary new series where 7 anime studios were handed the keys to Star Wars and told to create their own visions, resulting in 9 shorts blowing open the definition of the Saga as a whole. It all begins with Kamikaze Douga’s “The Duel,” where a roaming Ronin finds himself pulled into a small village’s conflict with bandit raiders. Continue reading “Star Wars Visions Review: “The Duel””
