I’m excited to reveal an exclusive preview of Dark Horse’s upcoming The High Republic Adventures – Phase III Volume 1 TPB, which will collect the first 5 issues! The High Republic Adventures – Phase III is the comic series’ final entry in the larger High Republic publishing initiative and this upcoming TPB release will be a great way to get caught up before we reach its 10th (and thankfully not final) issue in September. Comic News: Dark Horse Announces The High Republic Adventures Wedding Spectacular for December!

History is sort of repeating itself, because after publishing a Legends comic about Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade’s wedding over 20 years ago, Dark Horse is bringing us another wedding special: The High Republic Adventures – Phase III: The Wedding Spectacular One Shot, this time focusing on the wedding of former Jedi Lula Talisola and Zeen Mrala! D23 2024: Skeleton Crew Trailer, Andor Season Two Details, and More!

D23 hasn’t always been the place to go for Lucasfilm announcements or reveals, and it still was pretty subdued this year too (not even an The Acolyte season two announcement?!), but we did get our first public Skeleton Crew trailer, while panel-goers where treated to a sizzle reel for Andor season two and some brief shots from The Mandalorian and Grogu film. We also got a great look at the wild Rebuild the Galaxy LEGO special earlier in the day, so head below for a summary of what we all learned!

New Details on Star Wars Outlaws Story Expansions, Updated Buyer’s Guide {UPDATED}

We are less than a month away from the release of Star Wars Outlaws, one of my most anticipated Star Wars releases in a while, and now Ubisoft and Massive have revealed more details about the game’s additional story content expansions! Coming out Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 respectively, Wild Card and A Pirate’s Fortune will bring new adventures to Kay Vess’ story, which includes hanging out with the notorious pirate Hondo Ohnaka! Skeleton Crew Releases December 3, New Photos and Details Revealed!

With a LEGO set featuring the main ship from the upcoming Skeleton Crew show made its appearance in Target without any official reveal (prompting a pun I’m totally not sorry about) and Disney’s D23 convention coming up soon, it seemed like we were destined to finally see more about the Jude Law and kids-led show. Novel News: Reign of the Empire Trilogy Announced, Alexander Freed’s The Mask of Fear Begins February 2025

Despite SDCC and a recent publishing-focused panel barely in the rearview, io9 has the exclusive reveal of the next big Star Wars novel trilogy: Reign of the Empire! Beginning with Alexander Freed’s Reign of the Empire – The Mask of Fear on February 25, 2025, the trilogy is set to chart a course of the Rebellion’s rise in the 20 years between the prequel and original trilogies, with the subsequent releases coming from authors Rebecca Roanhorse and Fran Wilde! Star Wars Comics October 2024 Solicitations

Marvel is taking its Star Wars comics beyond Return of the Jedi in October, with both an Ewoks miniseries and the beginning of The Battle of Jakku maxiseries, and I will say this works very well as my birthday gift! Thank you, Marvel! As the Battle of Jakku is releasing almost weekly, we have the opening chunk of its 12-issue story to enjoy, as well as the ending of the Inquisitors miniseries, and lots of The High Republic goodness thanks to Dark Horse, so head below to read all about it!

Comic News: Battle of Jakku Maxiseries Announced, New High Republic Covers Revealed

Ahead of the SDCC publishing panel on July 25, the official site decided a few reveals were in order, starting with our first glimpse of what’s to follow this current era of comics: The Battle of Jakku maxiseries! Judging from the cover and the description, it looks like the comic will incorporate the defunct mobile game Star Wars: Uprising, as well as the Aftermath Trilogy, to solidify the lead up to the final battle of the Galactic Civil War. We also got covers for some upcoming The High Republic releases early, so between the maxiseries and the covers already being revealed, I expect we’ll be in for quite the treat at this panel! Comic News: Ewoks Miniseries Yub-Nub’s in October, New Era Teased!

If you look at the history of the current canon comics, the amount of non-human characters headlining anything longer than a one-shot comic, it’s been growing but hasn’t been a ton, as there’s been the Chewbacca miniseries, The High Republic: The Blade, two Darth Maul series, Yoda’s recent, or the Thrawn novel adaptations. And now helping the list grow…an Ewoks four-issue miniseries! As Marvel looks set to go into the post-Return of the Jedi timeline, something they teased before SDCC 2024, one of the first new announcements is a little series putting the furry, cuddly, murder bears from the forest moon of Endor front and center! Written by Steve Orlando, with art from Laura Braga and Álvaro López, Ewoks will begin this October, and so too will the new era of Marvel’s comics.
