Legendary Adventures: Legacy of the Force – Inferno

Darth Caedus now rules the galaxy! Nothing seems to stand in the way of the growing darkness, and even Luke Skywalker has been severely hampered in his battle against the Sith after the loss of his wife. But how far is Caedus willing to go in his embrace of the Dark Side? Join us as we continue through the Legacy of the Force with Inferno!

The sacrifice has been made. Jacen Solo, son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, has now fully given himself over to the Dark Side of the Force. Under the tutelage of the (late) Dark Lady of the Sith, Lumiya, Jacen has now become Darth Caedus. He had been working to bring Ben Skywalker to the Dark Side as a potential pupil, but he has realized he lost that opportunity. Now, he sets his sights on a new potential apprentice: Tahiri Veila, former girlfriend of Anakin Solo. Caedus has learned to influence the past through the Force with an ability called Flow Walking, which allows him and Tahiri to travel to the past and re-experience Anakin Solo’s death. Tahiri and Anakin share a kiss, and Tahiri’s gratitude has brought her a little closer to Caedus’s training. As Caedus grows in the Dark Side, he truly learns what it means when the Force is said to bind all things together – even time itself.

Caedus then starts causing chaos all over the galaxy. He blames Cal Omas, the now-ousted Chief of State, for the death of Mara Jade-Skywalker, which Anakin Solo investigates. Ben believes Jacen is the one behind her death, but cannot prove it yet. Omas kills himself on Ben’s lightsaber, which gives Ben a chance to return to Caedus without arousing suspicion toward himself. Finding out the truth, Ben is committed to killing Caedus and ending his reign of terror. Caedus also issues an arrest warrant for his parents, accusing them of working with the Confederacy on the side of the Corellians. They are put into exile, and they miss Mara Jade’s funeral. He also mobilizes the Galactic Alliance Guards to try and seize the Jedi Temple, but is foiled by Jaina Solo, Jagged Fel, and Zekk (all of whom still find themselves in the midst of a love triangle). The Jedi are spared, but do suffer some loses regardless. Caedus is also on the verge of gaining access to the Hapan Fleet, thanks to Tenel Ka, the mother of his child, on the condition he makes up with Luke Skywalker. This condition is not met, which makes Caedus lose some battles he believed he was going to win. Maybe the most egregious thing Caedus does is lead an orbital strike on Kashyyyk, shooting turbo lasers at the forests, burning them to the ground and threatening the lives of the Wookiees. This attack is designed to bring the Confederacy away from the Core and toward the Outer Rim, hoping the divided front would begin to pull the galaxy apart – and reform it again under his reign.

This forces all of our heroes to go on the offensive. The heroes find themselves on Kashyyyk, ready to turn against Caedus and hopefully bring him down. Leia and Han arrive to help the Wookiees first, but Luke arrives, announcing his intent to destroy Caedus, whom he now sees as the instigator of the death of Mara and the unnecessarily long continuance of the Second Galactic Civil War. As Caedus begins to decimate the surface of Kashyyyk, Jaina and Luke lead a starfighter squadron against him. Lowbacca disrupts the bombing by attacking Jacen’s Star Destroyer directly, but Jaina is the real key to ending this battle. She pretends to kill Luke, wherein Luke hides himself in the Force to get to Caedus directly. This leads to a confrontation between the two, and it feels like an even match. Ben is able to injure Caedus with a vibroaxe, but does not kill him. Tenel Ka learns of his treachery and brings the Hapan Fleet against him. He is able to escape, but at a great cost. Everyone he loves is now turned against him, and he stands alone at the top of the galaxy. The Jedi find themselves as antagonists to both Caedus’s version of the Galactic Alliance, but also against the Confederacy.

Deep in the shadows, though, fallen Jedi Alema Rar discovers the One Sith. The Sith have survived for millennia, unseen and unaffected by the Rule of Two. The leader of the One Sith, a mysterious figure with immense power, says he cannot support Caedus in this fight. He will not be discovered, he thinks, if he stays back. But unknown to him, Luke’s visions of darkness may not be pointing to Caedus, but the dark dragon who lurks in the shadows…
