Legendary Adventures: Riptide

When the One Sith, a hidden line of Sith Warriors, discovers clones that wield the Force (but without moral guidance) are racing through the galaxy, they’ll stop at nothing to find them. Can Jaden Korr, a new Jedi Master, stop the Sith from taking this valuable new weapon? Join the Legendary Adventure as we read Riptide!

A lot has happened in the life of Jaden Korr lately. For one, he met two salvagers named Khedryn Faal and Marr Idi-Shael. In fact, one of the two, Marr, showed incredible sensitivity to the Force, and Jaden agreed to take him on as a new Jedi apprentice. Another startling event, though, was the discovery and accidental freeing of a ship filled with clones that are Force sensitive, and these clones draw no distinction between drawing on the light and dark side of the Force. In a battle with an ancient Sith, these clones were accidentally sent hurtling through space, becoming a danger to everyone in their path. Grand Master Luke Skywalker authorizes both a trip to Fhost to find the clones and the training of Marr as a Jedi.

The clones draw the attention of many people around the galaxy. One being, the Mother, is waiting for the clones to essentially be delivered straight to her doorstep. The clones were told by a “prophet” among them to keep faith in the Mother. As they are touched by an illness that degrades their minds and their bodies, they wait for the Mother to heal them. One clone, Soldier, leads them despite the fact he is not as taken by the prophecy of the Mother as the rest of the clones are. Darth Wyyyrlok, one of the members of the One Sith, a line of Sith who operate in the shadows, stemming from the Lost Tribe of the Sith, also keeps an eye out for the clones. He also saw the power of Jaden Korr, noting the Jedi also accidentally called a bit on the dark side of the Force. Wyyyrlok hopes to turn Jaden, and calls on two Umbaran sisters with powers that affect Force-sensitivity to make sure Jaden is turned to the One Sith, and not turned on his own.

By the time Jaden finds the clones, a lot of them have already succumbed to the illness that affected almost all of them. The remaining clones were all based on the genetic material of powerful legends of the galaxy, like Dark Lady Lumiya, Kyle Katarn, and even Jaden Korr himself. Jaden loses a fight with the clones, and Jaden’s crew (and the Umbarans) track the clones after they manage to steal a shuttle. The Umbarans manage to reach the clones first, but they cannot kill them, especially Soldier. Darth Wyyyrlok wants Jaden, but the Umbarans treat Soldier as Jaden himself, and refuse to kill him on principle. This leads to their delay, and Jaden catches them and kills one of the Umbarans. The surviving one, Nyll, pledges revenge on Jaden and his crew.

In the end, the first group to meet their goals is actually the surviving clone fighters. They find the Mother, an ancient entity hidden within old Rakatan Infinite Empire tech. The Rakatans, some of the earliest conquerors of the known galaxy, built amazing tech before they were destroyed. Now, 25,041 years later, the tech survives (in a way) and the Mother searches for an escape. She finds one in the clones, whom she lured there to take advantage of them. As the clones are being used by Mother, Jaden duels Nyll, killing him. The clones then turn on the Mother, and Jaden is forced to team up with them to destroy the Mother. Jaden is actually killed, but his consciousness is transferred to the body of his clone, and he survives the battle. The clones’ stolen ship explodes, sending the tech on a crash course for the planet. The Mother is destroyed, but Jaden escapes. Unfortunately, Jaden knows something is different, and he begins questioning his own fate…

As Jaden considers his fate, one family is called to consider the storied history of one of the galaxy’s greatest relics, one of the fastest ships alive!
