October feels so far away, but I’m very anxious for it to come as not only does The Mandalorian’s second season arrive, Star Wars Squadrons will be out, and it’s my birthday month, but I’m getting married (finger’s crossed we don’t have to postpone we did, unfortunately)! There’s still even a honeymoon to be had, so I might miss out on some of the Star Wars goodies in October, of which the comics have quite a few great issues ahead, so check them out below!

SHE WILL HAVE REVENGE!
- COMMANDER ELLIAN ZAHRA has been tasked by the terrifying DARTH VADER with the job of tracking down the remnants of the REBEL FLEET, scattered since the BATTLE OF HOTH.
- From the bridge of her flagship the TARKIN’S WILL, she hunts the galaxy, eradicating all resistance, her secret goal to destroy LEIA ORGANA.
- But why such hate for the PRINCESS OF ALDERAAN? The truth…will be REVEALED!
This was originally solicited for June this year, but of course we all know what happened. This series has yet to be one that’s returned from the COVID-19 induced break, but it will be back in August so we should be hopping back into this intriguing storyline sooner than later!
Darth Vader #6 (on sale 10/14)
Greg Pak (Writer), Raffaele Ienco (Artist)
Cover by Inhyuk Lee | Empire Strikes Back Variant Cover by Chris Sprouse
THE PUNISHMENT
- Darth Vader failed to turn his son, Luke Skywalker, to the dark side of the Force.
- No…Luke was too weak to join his father in overthrowing EMPEROR PALPATINE.
- Vader sought revenge against those who hid Luke from him for all of these years…and in doing so nearly betrayed his master.
- It did not go unnoticed by Palpatine…time for Vader’s next lesson
Unlike the last time we saw Vader go behind Palpatine’s back, in the first volume of this series, it seems whatever Vader and Sabé get up to, ol’ Palpy DOES NOT LIKE IT. I’ll be curious to see what Vader does and how Palpatine responds! Also…very creepy cover!
Bounty Hunters #6 (on sale 10/21)
Ethan Sacks (Writer), Paolo Villanelli (Artist)
Cover by Lee Bermejo | Empire Strikes Back Variant Cover by Chris Sprouse | Action Figure Variant Cover by John Tyler Christopher
TWO AGAINST ONE!
- With precious cargo and a price on his head, VALANCE must go to the only person in the galaxy he can trust.
- But the UNBROKEN CLAN has sent a deadly and unique pair of bounty hunters after him!
- No one in the galaxy can escape the combined cunning of 4-LOM and ZUCKUSS!!!
When Bounty Hunters came back from the long COVID-19 induced break, I unfortunately lost even more interest in the series than I realized. After the ending of the first arc, I don’t know if this issue starts a new one or not, I’ll be moving to arc reviews for the series, but I can say I’m actually very excited to see 4-LOM and Zuckuss appear at the very least! Always thought we could’ve used more time with them.
Doctor Aphra #5 (on sale 10/28)
Alyssa Wong (Writer), Marika Cresta (Artist)
Cover by Valentina Remenar | Variant Cover by Terry & Rachel Dodson
POWER TO RULE THE GALAXY?
- Ronen Tagge has the legendary RINGS OF VAALE.
- Will he destroy the priceless artifacts or fall to their temptation?
- If they truly give him the power to rival the EMPEROR, what hope do APHRA and crew have to stop him?
The second issue of this arc just released this week and I had some questions on whether the rings will turn out to be real or not, and this solicit looks to confirm they have some truth in legends. Can’t wait to see how Aphra and her crew manage to get out of Ronen’s grasp if he’s truly so powerful!

Star Wars Adventures #1 (Vol. 2) {10/7}
Michael Moreci, Nick Brokenshire (Writers), Ilias Kyriazis, Nick Brokenshire (Artists)
Cover A by Francesco Francavilla
An exciting new era begins! Each issue in this monthly series will feature two stories starring all your favorite Star Wars characters! Between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, Poe and Finn have taken Rey to a remote planet to continue her Jedi training. But they’re surprised to find that the First Order’s reach extends far and wide. Plus, an all-new tale of the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader!
Originally scheduled for May, Star Wars Adventures‘ relaunch is now happening in September October (hopefully this sticks)! I’m eager for more time with the Sequel Trilogy’s Big Three, as it felt like we simply didn’t get enough with each of them in TROS. I’m also really hoping Rose gets featured in this relaunch too, instead of being sidelined like she is in the film. The main cover is above, but you can see some great variants below!
